chapter 16: capture the intruder

Couple of days has pass, Reno and the others are in the living room with serious faces. The leader Theo spoke in seriousness and said.

"We're broke."

With his first words, Sasha and Rita look at Ross with a glared in there eyes and he looks at the opposite direction.

The reason why they are broke was because Ross was busy spreading his kisses in the brothel.

This cause their earned money to almost spend and Theo who was weak when it comes to woman agreed.

Of course, Reno didn't know this since the only thing he do was reading the mana control and tried to opened his mana core.

As Theo look at everyone. He then said.

"Lucky for us, the princess gave us a job."

"Job? What kind of job?"

When Sasha ask in confusion. He then gave bitter smile and said.

"She wants us to be the guardsman."

"Guardsman? Isn't what the mercenaries like us do?"

"Yes but it's no ordinary guardsman."

As everyone was confused. Theo told th the detailed of the job of the body causing everyone to roar in anger.

In the flyfish mansion. Multiple people who wears a luxurious dress came as they gave the invitation to the guard.

This guard was Ross, who was a warrior the party. He greed the ladies like a gentleman and even goes as far as kissing the hands with seduction words.

Reno who look like a ordinary guard watch at Ross with a impressive face. While Rita who already know Ross's characteristics only look at him with cold eyes.

"I see, so we are trackers huh."

Trackers normally use to track people but what the flyfish family wants was to tracks suspicious people inside the party.

Although tracking skills are hard, the princess doesn't have a people to find intruders and so they are called for the job.

"So what are we going to do now? Both of us are the only who didn't do anything."

Right now, both Reno and Rita was guarding the gates of flying mansion.

What Theo told them was a guard job since most of the guardsman was kill on action including moss.

Although some of the guardsman survive. They couldn't handle the security alone.

"Haa... What do you expect Reno. If only that guy didn't waste our money. We wouldn't be here."

As Rita spoke in disgruntled. Reno only shook his head and said.

"Since there is nothing I can do. I guess I'll have to patrol the mansion."

"Sure but be careful not to wonder around. Most of the guardsman doesn't trust us."

As Reno nodded. He went to the courtyard as he look vigilants in the area.

Most guardsman he met are looking at him with suspicious eyes, but Reno didn't care as the party inside the mansion becoming livelier.

As Reno was about to turned around. He saw something suspicious.

One guard who walk towards him look at him with a greetings. But Reno didn't greet him but instead ask.

"Who are you?"

This makes the guard to be surprised. Of course Reno didn't know him since earlier before.

Theo and the group when for applying for the guard job, but Reno look at the every faces of all the guardsman before the party.

Since Reno who was a salary man, he been dealing with human interaction or memorize their face since it can help him for future negotiations.

Reno knew that this guy isn't someone from here.

"What are you talking about? Am working as the guard for the flyfish family."

As the guard said.

Reno look at him with suspicious gaze and the said.

"Oh really? Then let me ask you who is your captain?"

As Reno's question. The guardsman's face become stiff.other guardsman who was patrol the area saw the two conversation.

Although they didn't trust Reno. It didn't mean they hate him since he was the one who saved the princess.

When one of guardsman walk towards them in curiosity.

The fake guardsman become nervous and said.

"Dammit."

As he fired a fire ball spell in Reno. He was flew for a few meters as the intruder starts running.

The other guards man saw this, as he starts calling the other guardsman in the communication.

Reno who hit by the fire ball chase the intruder.

Upon taking the communication rune stone. Reno contacting Theo and said.

"Captain, I saw the intruder and currently escaping."

"What? A intruder? Do you know who is he?"

"I don't know, he shot me with fire ball spell."

"What really? Are you hurt? Should I called Ross for assistance?"

"No, am chasing the intruder now but please tell Sasha I need a assistance."

"Okay I tell her."

As Reno end the conversation. The intruder was keep running away as he finds a way to escape.

The noble territory isn't to be underestimate since most nobles houses have strong security.

The reason why the intruder was slip by was he told the other guardsman that he was one of the strife.

But he never though that this easy job he thought will be downfall since he didn't have a escape plan.

As he keep running, most of the guards are already chase him, this makes every nobles in the area saw intruder was chasing by the guards.

Although some of them as starting to nervous. Others such as the military officers and other young nobleman saw this as entertainment.

As the intruder tries to escape using the front gate. Ross who was station in the gate prepared himself as the intruder who use magic to escape. Met a iron fist punch as Ross didn't hesitate to use force.

This makes susha who was with Ross to be surprised. She never think that Ross, who considered as a tank of the team can disable the quickest intruder.

But when Ross look at the noble ladies with a smile. Her impression towards him changes coldly.

Like Ross always said. "If a man got motivated. He can conquered the world."

As the intruder falls to the ground. The guards who already near him has captured him.

Far away from the window. The man who has a blonde hair look outside with his cold eyes.

He never though that the informant which he hires was captured that easily.

The main reason why he didn't use his personal man was to be cautious. But the informat which he painstakingly pay got captured easily.

When one of the waiter saw the young blonde guy. He offered him a drink and then ask.

"You're orders sir?"

"Kill the informant. We don't want him to revealed our connection to this case."

"Understood sir."

As the waiter gave the glass of wine in the blonde guy. The waiter left him quietly.

Under the flyfish mansion. The guy who was bound in chain have bruise and black eyed in his face.

Reno didn't cared about the intruder since this kind of job wasn't a part to job.

Looking at his mission catalog. He needs to get a information out of him. But he also knew that this guy was just a pawn.

As beating continued, the knight who interrogate him ask.

"Who send you?!"

As the knight who's name was William gave a heavy punch to the intruder. This makes the man cough and said.

"You're wi-."

Before he could even continued. The knight gave him a punch. As Reno watch him getting beat up. One of the knights spoke.

"Good job on capturing this guy."

"What are you talking about, am not the one who caught him."

"Haha, I know that but still you got him."

As Reno shrug it, he then ask.

"What do you think to his other friends?"

Reno who ask the knight isn't stupid in this situation.

He knew that some of his friends already infiltrated the flyfish mansion and the knights knew it too.

At his question, the knight said.

"I don't know. Most of the people in the mansion was already employee since years ago. We don't know who's suspicious among them."

As Reno think this through, he then ask the knight.

"Well even if we know, those guys probably escape."

"I guess your right."

As Reno left the room. The knight remain vigilant as he will swear the he will let the intruder revealed everything.
