Blanche raised an eyebrow upon seeing Arabella, whom she hadn't seen in a while. In just a few days, Arabella had managed to become the manager of the finance department—impressive indeed.
"It's been a long time, Mr. Cole," Arabella greeted her.
Blanche smiled politely. "It has been a while. I need to get this invoice reimbursed quickly; could you please handle it?"
Arabella glanced at the document and said, "I'm sorry, but I can't sign this invoice. After reviewing it, I found that the date on the receipt is incorrect. I'm afraid I can't resolve this."
What do you mean you can't? Blanche couldn't help but scoff internally. Arabella hadn't even looked at the invoice properly; how could she claim something was wrong?
"I've already confirmed the date with the vendor, and there are no discrepancies. Please double-check it," Blanche said, maintaining her composure.
Arabella, seizing the opportunity, was not about to be so accommodating.
