"Why was he so mean to her" a lady asked

"There was no need to say all of that out loud, he broke the poor girl's heart" another person said

"This is how the Rosas behave, they are crude people, remember what the Empress said at the ball when she was announced as the fiance of the Emporer," a man said

"Yes I remember, it aligned with what the prince said," another said

"And you would think because of all that evidence you would finally see that the Empress is the victim" Lady Ruby said as she stood in front of the people who were talking

"Lady Ruby" they greeted with respect

"Don't start greeting me with respect out of nowhere, were you not speaking badly about my friend a few seconds ago?" Ruby asked

"It was a casual chat. We truly had no ill intentions" a lady said as she smiled at Ruby

"Oh is that so, it didn't seem like that to me, it seemed as if you were enjoying speaking ill of the Empress" Ruby said and smiled at them

"You got it all wrong lady" another lady said

"What's all the noise about?" the king asked when he finally arrived with Athena's stepmother and father, they left a while before Athena and Deimos arrived to talk business

"Your Majesty" they all greeted, all except for Deimos and Athena who were still sitting on the thrown while watching what was happening

"Empress, Emporer" the king greeted when he saw Athena and Deimos sitting on his thrown, he looked tense, the first thing that came to his had was that they were rebelling and the couple noticed that

"Don't worry King, my wife and I just needed a high place to sit, your subjects seem to think of her as someone who is of a lower status than even a maid. If I wanted to rebel, you would have smelt the stench of blood from the gate" Deimos said to the king as he laid his head on Athena's shoulder the woman who was his wife and his mate. The love of his life

"I see and I truly do apologise for their actions towards the Empress," the king said, he was scared, he was so scared, what Deimos told him at their last meeting was still stuck in his head and it wasn't going to get out anytime soon

"All you do is apologise and make empty promises, I'm sick of that, I want blood for the humiliation of my wife and the blood I want must belong to one of your most trusted people, maybe your new sister-in-law or better yet one of your precious nieces, Chloe would do well, she's always been desperate to be close to me," Deimos said

There was silence, Athena was quiet, she enjoyed what was going on, and she absolutely loved it
