"Look at that cloud, it's shaped like a heart," Deimos said pointing at the cloud as they both slept on the grass

"It does," Athena said a little weakly

"Are you okay?" Deimos asked his wife, concerned

"Yes, I'm just a bit tired, let's head back," Athena said and stood up, Deimos rose with her

"Are you sure you're okay?" Deimos asked again as they walked

"Yes I'm sure," Athena said with a smile

"Athena, my love, At…" Deimos began, but Athena blacked out before he could finish

"Athena, Athena, Athena, wake up, breathe my love" Deimos cried as Athena lay there lifeless, he pressed his ear on her chest, listening to her heartbeat, but there was nothing, nothing at all, just an empty shell.

He didn't know how or when, but he was at the castle begging the doctor to save his wife as tears fell down his eyes, the king was there to witness it all, for the first time in his lifetime after his sister-in-law's death, he cried, his niece was dying and there was nothing he could do, there was no explanation to why all that was happening to her either, she was just there, lifeless. Lying on that bed

"I did all I could Emporer, there is no sign of life from the Empress," the doctor said as he looked at the distraught Deimos

"No, no, there has to be something, she was fine…, she was running, she was playing, she was laughing, she was fuckin smiling at me a minute ago, she has to be pretending, yes it's all a joke" Deimos insisted, approaching Athena and gently holding her face

"My darling, open your eyes, I promise I won't be mad for playing such a cruel joke on me, open your eyes now my heart" he pleased, caressing her hair. When nothing happened, his tears flowed more freely

"It's not funny Athena, it's not fuckin funny, why are you doing this to me, open your damn eyes, I command you as your Emporer, I command you as your mate…., I beg you as your husband, I beg you, Athena, don't leave me in this world alone, I plead you" he continued, but still received no response. His knees finally gave up on him and he kneeled beside her bed, his hands holding onto the sheets of his wife's bed, his face soaked with tears and his face filled with sweat

Just like that, his heart was gone
