Date had been the right word, Mykel was certain. He knew what it was even from his original time, but its meaning had changed over the years. The way it was executed was different as well. While he finished getting himself ready, the words of advice that Ryan had spoken to him still rolled around in his mind. Desmond had no idea just how highly he was regarded by his friend. In order to put someone else’s personal happiness above your own beliefs was probably one of the most selfless things to do. By the end of their discussion, Mykel felt that he had read Ryan wrong. Now he was about to embark on taking the advice of someone else for once.
