Chapter 31: Corruption

Mykel knew that Lydia wanted to know more and to talk more about everything before he left. But it was just as it had been stated, they were running out of time. His physical change was proof of that. Whatever it was that Desmond had to face, he must have had no choice but to use a great deal of power. It meant that it was likely he could be in danger at that very moment. Mykel didn’t want to risk that by standing around and having a heart to heart with Lydia.

As bad as he felt about leaving her on the note that he had, there was no other way he could have avoided it. He just left the shop she occupied with the hope that she would understand why he did what he had to do one day. Whether that came from Desmond in the future or whatever may happen once the curse was broken. Either way, his focus right now was on getting to Desmond in time to ensure that he didn’t die by Ria’s hands.
