Chapter 29: Fight Until The End
“I guess I was right. You were waiting for me, weren’t you?” Desmond responded. He wasn’t going to let her presence intimidate him, despite how much it truly did.
“Oh, you made it painfully obvious that you were here. That’s the downfall of those creatures, isn’t it? They’re so noisy it’s hard to ignore their screams,” she answered with a dry chuckle. She waved her hand then, as though dismissing the topic. “No Mykel this time? You’re either very brave or foolish.”
“I came on my own. I’d never expose Mykel to this place in his condition, especially if it meant pushing him towards your grasp again,” Desmond said.
“Foolish it is. You can’t really believe you can still save him? Our little encounter probably only sped up the process, so it’s only a matter of time. There’s no way you could accomplish what he and I started.” She scoffed at his words.
