everything gone terribly wrong

Christopher and Athena slept like rocks that night nothing could bother them the next day he wished his dragon farewell as she left for the academy and was told to head for the training ground where she saw many riders celica who was wearing her usual valkyrie armor but this time she had a katana at her left hip walked up to her and bowed athena nodded her head in turn and she grabbed athena's reins and she like everyone else stood on the right of the dragon ready to mount

"as i am certain you all are aware we are gathered to hunt a behemoth but be forewarned this one has been reported to be much bigger than the others we have faced now get into your squadrons and meet your temporary teammates to those who dont have squadrons of there own yet we leave in one hour" the headmaster said as he mounted his own dragon and went to prepare with his own squadron

athena and celica's squadron all were young and inexperienced which started to make athena a bit worried since her own rider didn't look as if she was leader potential they introduced themselves with athena remaining silent the whole exchange they quickly got to know each other but what worried athena more was the fact that they weren't coming up with battle plans and sounded way to over confident but she didn't really know any of them so they could have the skill to back up their boasting athena hoped with all her might that she didn't have to get christopher to help he said he wasn't ready so it seems a bit unfair to force an individual to save a few inexperienced volunteers

"RIDERS MOUNT UP" the call was given celica looked at athena for permission who nodded the go ahead she placed her foot into the stirrup and through her leg over before grabbing the halberd on her back so she held the reins with one hand and her halberd with the other

"we ride to glory" the head master called getting cries of assent from everyone including celica who looked way to excited which worried athena even more before they all were commanded to take flight celica lightly touching athena's side with her heels athena did feel it but only barely

'this girl is way to gentle' athena thought she liked christophers harshness she liked him drilling his heels or pulling on the reins tighter than was necessary but this girl was way way to gentle but she followed her commands it was after all her fault for agreeing to this

when they saw the beast the riders grew very excited who ever gets the killing blow gets the beasts carcass to do with as they wish that was a rule and so the riders were really excited to see a beast this size but the dragons were all starting to grow worried as they could feel the power flowing through it and it was massive the amount of elemental energy this beast had the headmaster and his squadron saw this as well but they knew that most of the riders here wouldn't retreat this was easy glory and fame in there eyes so the headmaster and his squadron had a last resort and it came from protecting athena

the battle began rather well celica and others had theirs dragons charged at the beast and it looked as if they were doing a ton of damage what they didnt realize was the beast was regenerating it roared it was an ear-piercing sound as celica thought she saw week spot and enthusiastically had athena charge at it athena saw a moment to late was that the beast wanted them to do that it swung its massive arm at them fortunately athena's instinct took over and they were able to dodge it was at that moment that celica looked around dragons were falling everywhere or already crash landed those who survived started to flee the headmaster flew towards athena

"fetch your rider" the headmaster said athena nodded she understood that they wouldn't summon him for nothing so celica bent down to be as level with her back as possible to make athena more streamlined she looked like a horse jockey racing to the finish line but instead on dragon back and this time it was to save lives she now understood she had no right on the back of the dragon especially since she nearly caused the death of dragon that wasnt even hers
