CHAPTER NINETEEN.

FIONA'S P.O.V

I put the pillow back on the couch with a bored sigh. Mikhail looks up from the pile of paperwork scattered all across his table and raises an eyebrow at me.

"Is being an alpha always this boring?" I ask and he chuckles. "yeah I have to do paperwork all the time" he tells me as he piles them together and gets up from his chair. He walks over to me and I scoot over to give him space on the couch.

"Why'd you stop? I thought you said they're really important" I asked confused but he just closes his eyes and leans back. "They are but I'm almost done anyway. I can spare an hour or two for my mate" he says and I try my best not to smile.

I've been clinging onto him since I told them the truth yesterday. I don't know why but I guess I'm just relieved that he accepted me. I want to spend every waking minute with him, staring at him and sniffing in his scent, his intoxicating scent. Wait... What? Intoxicating? Since when did I start using words like that for Mikhail? I mean I know he's my mate and I've always found him attractive but this is different.

Now that I think about it, I've been acting weird around him since yesterday. I'm more aware of his scent, which calms me down by the way. Not only that but I feel agitated anytime I'm not with him. He was shocked when I stuck to his side like glue the whole day yesterday.

I'm still pondering over my newfound obsession with Mikhail that I barely catch what he was saying. "-know that right?" I manage to hear. "Huh what?" I ask sheepishly realizing that I wasn't paying attention.

"I said I'm always going to be with you through the bad and the good times, you know that right?" He says again and I nod with a smile, I know he will. "Good. I just wanted you to know that, especially with all the drama that has been happening lately" he adds before pulling me into his side.

I sigh in contentment this time, his warmth is radiating and I can feel it. Before I know what's happening I find myself tracing my hands up and down his chest. He takes a deep breath and slowly lets it out but I just continue with what I'm doing.

His hands move on top of mine and I finally look into his eyes, his blue eyes seem to be pulling me into their depths and my other hand finds it's way to his cheek as I rub the light stubble there. My hands move up and I end up running them across his straight nose and downwards again to land on his lips. His lips feel soft beneath my fingers and I can't help but slowly run my fingers over them. I watch as he takes a deep breath and closes his eyes.

I don't know what came over me but I get the sudden urge to feel his lips on mine so I do just that. I slowly wrap my hands around his head and pull his head down towards mine, our lips meeting halfway. His body tenses probably due to his surprise at my actions but a few seconds later he pulls me closer and I feel one of his hands snake around my waist.

I don't know how long we stay like this, lips locked and in our own little world but the sudden need to breathe eventually causes us to pull apart, with Mikhail's head resting on mine we struggle to catch our breaths.

"I don't know what that was for but I loved it" he says and I can basically hear the grin in his voice. I smile sheepishly at him finally looking up and breaking apart "I don't know either, just had the irresistible urge to do that" I can't believe I just said that to him, i feel my cheeks heat up and I can't help but clear my throat.

"Well I'm glad to know you find me as irresistible as I find you, seems I'm not the only one in that boat" Mikhail adds and we both burst into laughter.

He was about to say something else when a guy suddenly burst into the room, he looks all out of breath and he's panting too. "Alpha you need to see this" he says with panic written on his face.

Mikhail is up on his feet in seconds and I hurry after him too as we follow the guy downstairs and out of the house, a smile makes it's way to my face when I finally realize why he was so panicked. Ahead of us are three dragons all headed this way and I can already make out the outline of some people on them.

I look around and see that some of the pack members are already hanging around and staring in awe at the incoming dragons. "Wow" Mikhail says and I turn around to see his eyes fixed on the dragons that have now gotten really close, a look of pure awe written on his face.

I hear footsteps near me and turn around to find that the others have also gotten to our side. The dragons are really close now and I easily spot Chandler's dragon in the middle. The dragons land a few feet ahead of us and I find myself sprinting towards them.

Before I get there the people on the dragons are already climbing down and my smile gets bigger when my parents get down. I run right into their arms and they wrap their arms around me steadying us all. We finally break off the hug after a while and I turn around to see Ina and Jeremy are also here.

Ina squeals before pulling me into another hug and I can't help but laugh at her loud squeal "I have missed you so much" I mumble into her hair and I feel her release a sigh too. "I've missed you too Fiona"

I pull back and Jeremy gives me a toothy grin which makes me roll my eyes. "Glad to see you're still alive" he says jokingly and I playfully punch his shoulder which makes him cry out in pain. I didn't even hit him that hard, he is so dramatic and I know he's overreacting.

"Mother, Father, you didn't come with my brothers?" I ask a little disappointed, I've missed them so much. My Father shakes his head before answering "No, they had to stay and look over the kingdom while we would be away" he says and I realize that he's right; they can't just leave the kingdom unprotected.

Mikhail and the others have gotten to us now and they all stare back awkwardly except Daphne who is completely focused on Jeremy. She's staring at him with a look of complete shock which makes me frown and look back at Jeremy but his gaze is also completely focused on Daphne too. What's going on I wonder and I'm about to voice my thoughts when my dad disrupts the silence. "Fiona are you going to introduce us to your friends?" He asks and I snap out of my thoughts.

"Oh yes of course father, let's all go inside then we can discuss everything" I tell him and turn to Mikhail who nods back at me. He stays silent for a few seconds then I notice the people around us all going back to their houses. He must have mind linked them to go back to their businesses, he then starts to lead us back to the pack house.

I know the dragons won't shift back so that they can protect my parents should anything go wrong so we leave them to lay on the ground. Their eyes are sharp and their bodies tense as they observe their surroundings for any threats, there's no doubt that they're all warriors.

We all head back inside to discuss and my hands are interlocked with my mothers'. I just can't keep the smile off my face as I stare at all of them. My family, right here with me.
