CHAPTER FOURTEEN.

FIONA'S P.O.V

After Jace took me to my room he told me to lock my door and not to open it unless i heard him and the guys knock. I stayed there for a while making sure to ignore all the growling I heard downstairs and I kept trying to convince myself that everything was fine but deep down I knew that was a lie.

It wasn't until I heard a really loud growl that I decided I needed to go downstairs to check on the guys. It was probably a bad idea but I couldn't just sit here and ignore all the growling, Maybe they're being attacked by wild wolves since we are in the middle of a forest.

I got up and unlocked the door moving slowly and quietly down the hall and down the many flights of stairs, I opened the door and was met with a very strange scene indeed. I saw wolves fighting all around me. Some were already dead but most were still fighting.

This was so confusing, why would wolves be fighting here and where's everyone? They're just letting all this happen without doing anything? The weirdest part was that stench, the same awful stench that was all over that building.

I made sure to concentrate on the smell and I realized that it was coming from the wolves but not all of them. The wolves with the stench had red eyes and they had spit dripping from their mouths. Even though I didn't know much about animals from the human Realm I'm sure that they're not supposed to have red eyes.

I think I was right though because the other wolves looked normal, well as normal as wolves that are growling and attacking each other can. I moved around the site making sure to avoid the wolves but they didn't even notice me, they were too busy fighting each other.

It wasn't until I saw a particular black wolf that I stopped, this one was really large and it's scent seemed to draw me in, the scent of pine trees and vanilla. The wolf smelt exactly like Mikhail and that confused me.

The wolf turned around and saw me staring then it looked surprised? Why would a wolf be surprised to see me. I was expecting it to attack me but it only stared at me as two more wolves came up to it. One was a really deep gray and the other was lighter in colour

. They all stared at me before going behind some trees, I was considering following them when I heard snapping sounds. Three people came out from behind the trees and my breath caught in my throat when I realized that it was the guys.

I took a little step back, how is this possible? Wolves went behind the trees and humans came out. The only possible explanation is that they were the wolves. How is that possible? They're supposed to be humans so how could they turn to wolves? Maybe they were shifters like us? But wolf shifters? I couldn't help but say it out and Jace replied that they were actually Werewolves.

I was about to ask more questions when Mikhail spoke up and told us to go inside and that he would answer all my questions.

After entering his office he started explaining everything to me and I finally understood the meaning of Rouges. I was even more worried about my people now.

Why would Rouges take them? Maybe they found out that Dragon shifters exist? I need to work on getting them out but I don't know where they are.

I would have gotten more information about the Rouges from the guys but I wanted to wait a bit so I wouldn't seem suspicious. When he explained what mates were to me I was so shocked.

The mate part wasn't what shocked me cause we Dragons always have mates but it would be a Dragon like us. If all what he said was true then it would mean that I have a Werewolf mate.

This has never happened before, Alice must have felt it when she saw him but she didn't tell me. I asked Mikhail what would happen if I didn't want him as my mate and watched his face fall.

I felt really bad for what I said but I needed to know just in case. After convincing him that I wouldn't reject him I found myself asking Jace and Mark if they also had mates.

After telling me about their mates and Mikhail's younger sister Daphne I got carried away and told them about my brothers, to say I regretted opening my mouth would be a big understatement. Now they think I just got another memory back and they're excited that I'll soon be able to shed light on the Rouge situation.

The thing now is how I'm supposed to shed light on something even I don't understand. After telling them that I wanted to rest in my room I excused myself and they told me that they would take care of the dead pack members and discuss the Rouge attack.

I entered my room and shut the door. Immediately I sat down on the bed I got straight to the point. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked Alice.

For a second there I thought she wouldn't answer me but she did. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you that we're mates with Mikhail" she said in a soft voice.

I scoffed at this "okay but why?" I pressed on.

"I was scared" she said in a low voice.

"why? What were you scared of?" I asked confused.

"Fiona don't you get it? Dragons are always mated to each other but we're not." She said angrily.

"So what's wrong with being different? A mate is a mate no matter what he is" I told her angrily.

"Yeah but what if our people don't agree? What if our parents don't agree? What if they're disappointed with the fact that we're not mated to a Dragon."

It wasn't until now that I realized that she was right. What would my parents say if they found out? Would they be disappointed with us or would they be okay with it? I had to admit that I was a bit scared but I had no other choice than to accept it and if they truly loved me then they'd accept it too.

"Alice I'm sorry for getting angry, I know you're scared and I am too but we can't change the fact that he's our mate" I tell her with a sigh.

"I know and I accept him but what if others don't?" She asked sadly. "Well we'll just have to wait and see" I tell her before closing my eyes and falling asleep.

THE NEXT DAY

I got up from my bed smiling. I had a dream about me and Mikhail kissing. After taking my bath and getting dressed I went downstairs and met the guys eating breakfast.

Immediately they saw me Mikhail got up to greet me"hey Fiona how was your night?" I smiled at him "fine, I slept like a baby" I tell him.

"Well sit down for breakfast" he says leading me to one of the chairs. A few minutes later a girl served me food, I'm guessing she's an Omega.

After I clear my plate of food I look at the guys "so anything new about the Rouges?" I ask looking at Mikhail.

"We haven't found anything other than the fact that they ran away after a while" Mikhail said and I sensed that he was already getting angry. "How many of them got away?" I ask.

"Twenty Rouges came and seven got away, we were able to kill the others" Jace answers me. Suddenly Mikhail slams his hands on the table and growls which makes all of us flinch.

"They killed two pack members and seven of them escaped. This pack is one of the strongest in America. Rouges wouldn't dare attack us and even if they do they always regret it cause they all die" he growled again this time louder.

"Now we got attacked by a bunch of Rouges, just twenty Rouges and we couldn't even kill all of them, not only that but they managed to kill TWO pack members" Mikhail was really angry about the Rouge attack and his eyes were turning black.

I touched his hands that were still on the table and he looked at me. I rubbed my hands on his and his eyes went back to their normal colour. "Mikhail calm down yelling won't solve anything, let's discuss it calmly" I tell him slowly.

I see him let out a sigh and nod but he doesn't make any move to remove our entwined hands. "Something was very wrong with those Rouges, did you see how strong they were?" Mark asks looking deep in thought.

"Yeah they were faster too, that's not normal" Jace adds. "Now I understand what the other packs meant when they said that they were different, I'm sure the Rouges that attacked were part of the group that has been attacking packs" Mikhail finally told us what he was thinking.

"Okay but do you guys have any idea on why they're so strong?" I asked them. "No we don't, it's definitely not as a result of training hard cause Rouges don't really train" Mark says.

"Well maybe this group is different, maybe they actually train a lot and that's why they're quite strong" I suggest to them. Jace shakes his head before answering "no! Rouges aren't like that, they're mindless idiots who rely on brute Force and the element of surprise."

"And even if we assumed that they trained a lot they shouldn't be stronger than our pack" Mikhail says with a calculating look.

"Yeah that strength and speed wasn't very Werewolf like" Mark adds and I can't help but frown at this "what do you mean it's not Werewolf like?" I voice out loud.

"I mean no regular Werewolf is that strong or fast, the only reason we were even able to kill most of them is because this pack is really strong" Mark explains to me.

This is quite strange, if Werewolves aren't that strong then where did those Rouges get their powers? I can't help but think "I don't know but I have a really bad feeling about all this, there's a picture we're not getting and it's making me anxious" Alice tells me.

Before I can ask anymore questions we hear a car pull up outside and the guys immediately get up.
