A Confrontation

"You know you also have a well toned and shaped behind also."

Those were the last words Polemos heard before he lost consciousness. He only felt a sharp sting of pain from his neck before he fell like a puppet whose strings were cut.

"You seemed to have enjoyed yourself, Secat. You've been smiling since the beginning and I was able to feel the excitement in your blood." Gelu spoke as she silently and noiselessly appeared beside Polemos catching him with her use of Mana.

"I did, even though it was essentially a one sided beatdown he never gave up nor did he run away, he stood his ground. Plus he was using high level defensive techniques that most would never think or try to do." Secat smiled as she looked at Gelu. "How long before he's fixed up or able to move, he's supposed to cook a feast for losing."

"Oh it won't be long, maybe an hour or two, the night is still young. Besides from what I recall you normally beat or cripple those who've called you beautiful or flirted with you. Yet you even agreed to let him cook a meal for you. Is my disciple your pet or something." Gelu asked as she took out a pendant as it lit up slightly then dimmed.

Secat shook her head. "He's been honest every time he's called me beautiful and never in an insulting manner like everyone else, and he's the one who said he was a good cook. Besides, I like to eat." Secat spoke as she replied with a happy look at the end.

"Oh, did he now, I'll have to try some of his cooking as well then." Gelu smiled behind her veil.

"What was that pendent? Calling someone?" Secat asked as she placed her hands on her hips as she looked at the unconscious and floating Polemos. "Shouldn't you just let him drop or place him on the ground."

"Just a special pendant to call my personal aide Kazzy. She'll be here shortly in order to take my disciple to the medical area and get him fixed up." She then slowly lowered Polemos to the floor. "Besides I didn't want your lover to ruin his face." Gelu teased as she looked over to Secat.

Secat frowned as she replied in anger and denial. "He's not my lover, we just met yesterday for the first time and he's weak. There's no way he'd be my lover." She crossed her arms over her chest as she glared at Gelu.

Gelu raised her brow in surprise as she spoke. "Really, well as far as I could tell he's the only one who's been able to call you beautiful, let alone flirt with you and still be perfectly fine. Plus he's also joined your Burnt Lioness mercenary band. Might I say the only male lion in the entire band." She smiled under her veil as she saw Secat try and look in a different direction.

"What, have you been watching me the entire time and following me at every turn!? Why would the great Cryptkeeper of the Grey Keepers want to keep an eye on me?" Secat tilted her head slightly and frowned while looking at Gelu.

But before Gelu could respond they both heard Elder Bones screaming in fear as the door to the training area opened as an individual cloaked in a large and heavy grey cloak that covered every feature entered. A bright and cheery voice spoke from behind the deep hood.

"You called me master? I was just helping some lost lambs in the Zombied Hall. We have four new lambs for research and study!" She then bowed while speaking out to Elder Bones. "Oh shut up you damn coward, I'm not that scary. Why does everyone scream in fear when they see me?"

"Good job Kazzy, with the lost lambs. And as for Elder Bones he'll be joining my collection of souls since he failed miserably when handling our guests." She gestured to Secat who was still waiting for her to answer her question.

She ignored Secat for the moment as she pointed to Polemos. "This is our newest Keeper and also my disciple Polemos, treat him well. Take him to the medical area and heal his broken and fractured bones. When you're all done, then you can head over to the Mercenary Guild and ask Drakeraz why he decided to watch and follow my dear guests." She spoke coldly when she spoke about Drakeraz.

"Yay! A new member and even better you finally were able to find a disciple! Yay, yay, yay!!!" Kazzy was jumping up and down in pure joy. She jumped towards Gelu and Polemos as she even started to jump around them.

"Calm down Kazzy but, yes indeed it is a glorious and good thing. Now grab Polemos to get him fixed up, he has a feast to make later." Gelu shook her head as she watched Kazzy jump around in joy.

Secat was surprised and confused at the same time, but what made her even more baffled was that she wasn't able to sense or feel any form or Mana from Kazzy as she was jumping up and down.

But when she stopped and reached down to try and grab Polemos by his ankle, Rose finally raised her head as she hissed in fury. She rushed towards Polemos and grabbed him before Kazzy could, which surprised all in the room.

Rose never made a sound nor did anything to interfere when Polemos was being beaten or when she followed them into the depths of the crypts. She didn't even hiss or make a noise when she met Gelu. But the moment Kazzy got near or tried to touch Polemos she reacted without haste as she grabbed and seemed to be protecting Polemos.

Gelu frowned in anger as she spoke in a cold and dark tone.

"Kazzy. Didn't I just say to treat my new disciple with care and to treat him well."

Kazzy didn't say anything as it seemed like she was looking at Rose. Then she turned her head to Gelu as she spoke like something was stolen from her and complained like how a child just had its toy stolen.

"Geluuuuu, that beast took him away!! Can I kill it please, I didn't do anything I swear! You can check, I swear!!" Then she turned to look at Rose as she shook her fist in the air which made the long and heavy cloaked sleeve fall, revealing a very thin and pale white boned hand.

When Secat saw the thin and boney hand she frowned as she looked at Gelu and sighed. While Gelu rubbed her forehead as she replied to Kazzy's child-like actions.

"No you can't kill Rose. That's my disciples' partner, if you did I'd be forced to kill you also to show my stance." She looked to Secat to see if she had any way to get Rose to hand over Polemos.

"Don't look at me, like I said I just met them both yesterday and I'm pretty sure that it was because of Polemos that I was even able to touch or rub her head. Other than that I don't have any way to get her to drop him. That and I've never seen anyone tame or even have a beast as a partner. Plus you still have yet to answer my question from earlier." Secat angrily replied as she crossed her arms across her chest.

Gelu sighed as she looked over to the now very alert and scared Rose as she was looking between Kazzy and Gelu. Gelu started to slowly walk towards Rose as a cold and icy mana started to spread around the entire room as she spoke in a calm and cool manner.

"I mean no harm Rose, I only wish to have his bones be fixed and repaired." The cold and icy mana continued to spread around the entire room as Secat started to even breath out a white mist all while Rose continued to stare and hiss at the slowly approaching Gelu.

Gelu didn't say anything as she slowly raised her hand as a white soft like mist gathered in her hand before it flew in Rose's direction. Surprise formed on Secats face as she recognized the spell that Gelu used.

'That's impossible, the only person who was able to use that spell is dead. How?" She thought as she remembered that the spell was a creation of the original person she remembered.

The white like mist shot out at Rose quickly. She wanted to dodge or avoid the mist but couldn't as it seemed to be locked onto her, it silently covered her face as a cold and comfortable feeling embraced her, as her consciousness slowly started to fade.

Rose tried to fight the feeling of comfort as she hissed but couldn't as she slowly faded, lowering herself back to the ground. But as a last ditch effort to try and protect Polemos she covered him with her body.

Gelu was surprised by the actions Rose took in order to protect Polemos as she had never seen a beast do that, especially a centipede. But before she could take another step forward a fireball flew past her and hit the wall.

"Boom!"

"Now why would you go and do that my dear friend. We just got to see each other again after so long." Gelu spoke as she turned around and faced a furious and battle ready Secat.

"Friend? That's rich coming from you, Gelu or whatever you call yourself. That spell you just used was a creation of a close friend of mine before she died. So care to tell me just how you managed to learn it." Secat spoke as a pair of heavy gauntlets appeared on her hands, as a fierce and boiling heat spread from them.

"Didn't I answer that question before? This is a mausoleum my dear, Secat." Gelu smiled underneath her veil as Kazzy quickly jumped in front of her to defend her master. "Now, now Kazzy go and grab Polemos, I'll finish with my friend here soon. Run along."

"Awwwwww, I'm gonna miss out on all the fun. Oh well." Kazzy groaned before she started to skip over to Polemos while humming a cheerful tune.
