Alone with the queen
Dinner at the village felt like a step into another world, even for the demon realm. The dining hall was rustic but elegant, with stone walls covered in tapestries depicting old battles and legends. The smell of rich, savory dishes filled the air, making my stomach rumble.
As I sat beside Seraphine at the long wooden table, I noticed how at ease she seemed here, despite the simplicity compared to the grand demon capital. She exchanged pleasantries with the village king and queen, who were surprisingly down-to-earth.
The king, a burly demon with charcoal skin and horns that curved like a ram's, laughed heartily at a joke, while the queen, petite and refined with silver hair that shimmered like moonlight, smiled warmly at Seraphine.
