CHAPTER NO :2
She went over to her brother and shook him awake. Whenever he was o a robbery with Luke she used to leave Michael with at a park where a sweet lady would take care of him for the day. Luke had took her to the park with him for the first time and introduced both of them to a small,fat,old lady named Mrs Tromp Rephie. Luke was also an orphan and grandma had found him in the park when he was 11. And she decided to take him in her care and took care of him. Kate didn't knew what exactly what happened to Luke's parents and her sister and did not dare ask because she knew that it was a very touchy topic for him. At first Kate found the old lady mildly annoying because as soon as she met her, she started asking questions about her eyes, her parents and everything else. But as soon as she got to know, she found out that the lady's only child and her husband died in an accident. So she lived all by her self now. Kate felt sympathy towards the lady and used to go to meet her once or twice a week. Now she trusted that lady and used to leave Michael whenever she was on work.
"Hey little guy! wake up. See whose here." Kate told Michael while shaking him up
Michael adored Luke. because whenever Luke came. he brought chocolates or other gifts for Luke.
Michael rubbed his orange eyes. He had the same eyes as his mother. He was tall with black hair also inherited from their mother. Kate also had black hair. she saw her step father a few times. His name was Jason Roy. He also had dark hair with pale skin tone. Kate didn't like him very much because he was always rude to her. telling her to go to her room whenever she tried to sit on the dining table. He never let her watch TV or play video games. He only loved his own son who was Michael. Soon Her mother and Jason started having fights because he treated Kate so roughly. Then one day when Michael was around 3 years old, their parents had another fight due to the reason that he was forcing Kate to do the house work, he left angrily. later her mother got a call from hospital stating that Jason had gotten himself in a fight with some delinquents and ended up seriously hurt. They rushed to the hospital where Jason soon died. Kate had never seen her mother so broken. She cried every day and night and refused to eat anything. blaming herself for everything. Kate felt sympathetic towards her mother but couldn't help feeling a bit of relief because Jason was gone now and she hated herself for it.
"OH! hi uncle Luke" Michael greeted Luke happily in squeaky little voice.
Luke waved at him and took out a bar of snickers and a pack of Oreo.
Michael was so delighted. He hugged Luke and started munching on the bar happily.
"Michael you will be staying at grandma Tromp today." Luke told her.
"Really!" Michael exclaimed. " Grandma! lets me play with a lot of toys and she lets me eat whatever i want."
Kate smiled. Luke drove( in his own car which of course was stolen as well) them to the park where they were sure to find grandma. She found her siting at her usual bench in the Park. She smiled towards them. She looked exactly like she remembered her. Old,white haired and small. She was wearing a pink dress with a matching hat. Kate went towards and hugged her.
"OH MY! Aren't we in a good mood today. " Grandma told her as she hugged her back.
"Michael my dear!" she exclaimed as Michael ran and joined the hug.
"Grandma would you please take care of Michael as we have a work to do today" Kate told Grandma and pulled away from the hug. Kate winked at her.
Grandma knew about their being thieves and she knew they didn't have another way to make enough money to live a better life. So she was fine with it.
"Of course I will honey." she told her
Kate bid her farewell and bid her farewell. Luke was still waiting for her in the car. she sat in the front seat. they drove for a few minutes in silence and when they were about reach their destination she asked Luke "How much of a chance is their that today we'll get caught?"
Luke remain silent for a few minutes and then they reached their destination and she turned to leave Luke told her " Well there is a 70% chance of that but don't worry if that happens I'll make sure to get you out of there even if it ends up in me dying." Luke told her with a serious expression.
"And why would that be" Kate asked. Curious
"Because you look a lot like my sister and i don't want to loose you like i lost her. When i first saw you, you nearly broke my arm by twisting it 360 degree. He smiled. " When i first saw you i saw thought as if I got my sister back and another chance of protecting her. She was also younger than me by two years just like you are. and i was so protective of her and then one day... " Luke trailed of and looked away looking. then continued "Anyways you should not get late. you have to get ready to become Miss helpless" He joked and smiled.
But could see the hurt in her eyes. she wanted to ask more about what happened. but she couldn't bring her self to do that. Not after she saw the pain in his eyes just by remembering it.
"Yeah of course." she groaned and left the car and headed towards the abandoned shop. It was a small building. Luke and his crew mates used to have meetings here. Inside everything was dark except for a small candle burning in the middle of the room on a small table surrounded by 4 chairs all of which were occupied by Luke's crew mates. she waved to them and they greeted her as well. one of them was a girl named Sarah. Half of her head was shaved and tattooed with a serpent as an act of rebellion towards her parents who hated her because she was a girl and wanted to sale her for money. She was very tough. She was tall and slim and she was pale.
On her left side was a short guy named Lucas who was always so energetic he couldn't sit at one place and proceeded to move up and on her chair.he had brown hair and Asian skin tone His parents were very poor so he took this path to give them a better life style.
On Sarah's right was a tall girl with blonde hair. Her name was Rudy and she ABSOLUTELY refused to talk to anyone about her past life. She was sitting next to her twin brother Emerald. He was also no good in talking. Both of them were as mysterious as Mona Lisa's smile. Both of them were pretty identical with dark skin tones and blond hair. Except for their eyes. Emerald had green eyes and Ruby had or red eyes.
she went towards them greeted them. All of them were Happy except for the twins of course.
"Should I show you your dress and get you ready before the big show?" Sarah mocked.
Kate rolled her eyes.
"Would you shut up?" Kate asked he.
"Why should I? You are obviously the star of the show. " Sarah smirked.
Kate couldn't help smiling. she let Sarah take her to the dressing room and showed her the dress. it was an absolutely cute outfit. It had a pink shirt with magnificent flowers on it. With a pant which was the color of the faded blue. It also had a lot of flowers imprinted of it . It was the first time in days she was about dress in such a clean a cute outfit. She decided to take a shower first and ran into the washroom and took a bath in hot water. soon she came out fully cleaned and she smelled of flowers. Sarah was waiting for her outside. She helped her blow dry her hair and did her makeup. Then she did her hair. Making an absolutely pretty french tail at the side and finishing of with a high pony tail.
Kate couldn't but admire herself in the mirror. she looked so pretty with blush on her cheeks and winged eyeliner on her eyes.
Sarah smiled at her looking so intently in the mirror and told her"Hey beauti. stop admiring yourself or you might end up siting here for hours. Not to mention you are supposed to look pretty to the guards and the others."
she noded and followed Sarah out of the room.
She reviewed the plan in her mind which Sarah told her while helping her get ready. The plan was that first she'll walk to the front of the bank and call her driver on the phone and ask him to come to pick her from the front of the bank. then she would go close to the guards and ask them what the name of the bank was. Just than Emerald will come and seize her Phone. and pull at her purse than taking both the things fro her and running away. Then she would urge the guards to follow him by telling them she had 20,000$ in her bag. when they will follow him. She will gesture towards everyone else to go into the bank fully armed and and try to get as much money as possible. Than if the guards would be back. Luke will use her as a victim. And point the gun towards her and head towards the car with the money and run away as soon as they can.
Kate found some major loopholes in the plan but she decided to keep them to herself because everyone was already very anxious. This was the biggest robbery they were about to do. They used to rob small shops or hotels. But now they were going straight for the bank.
Soon she met Luke and all of them headed towards the bank at 11 o clock. they didn't talk at all while going there.When they reached there Kate left the car before all of them and headed to wards the bank.
Her hands were sweaty and she could stop herself from shaking. When she reached the front of the bank she took out her phone and loudly said "What is that idiot doing? how can he be late." She dialed a number furiously and took the phone to her ear, took a deep breath and yelled on the phone loud enough to wake up the neighborhood and said "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?.... I KNOW YOU ARE MY DRIVER no need to tell me THEN COME AND PICK ME UP FROM THIS DAMNED BANK. WOULD YA?....NO I DONT KNOW WHAT THE NAME IS ... WAIT LEMME ASK."
She headed towards the guards still shaking and asked "Hello sir! sorry actually my driver is an asshole and he wants to know about this place address so he can come pick me up." She asked them.
"This place is called wine road because of the number of wine trees here. Tell him to pick you up from the front of the state bank." one of the guards, a tall,blond and muscular guard told her.
she coudn't but think how easily this guy would brake her spine in half.
she repeated (SHOUTED) the lines on her phone. she couldn't help but smell a stinking,rancid smell like rotten eggs and flesh. She somehow felt familiar with that smell.
"So what are you doing here when even your driver doesn't know your location" the other guard asked her. He was also very muscular and tall. Taller than the other guard. Both of them were wearing military uniforms.
"I...erm" she was saved from having to answer when Emerald fully dressed in black with his mouth covered came and snatched her purse and phone and ran away. Kate screamed after him and started crying and asked them to catch him. But they simply smiled and told her "You wont need that stuff. you are going to die anyways."
She then realized why she thought that smell was familiar. Because she last smelled it when her mother was about to be snapped in half and that was only when the demons were very close to her. Surely no demon would be able to find her as she kept moving and she could sense them and see them she thought.
the trail of her thoughts were stopped when she saw the two guards open their mouth. There teeth started to grow. there body became larger and larger. there dresses torn apart now covered only bit of the red reptilian skin with scaled on. they continued to grow and she saw that the things had big large claws. big tooth and worst pf all, their faces. one of the had the face of a shark but of red i color with bigger teeth and 8 eyes. The other guy or the demon had the face of a loin with horns and teeth bigger than her arm.
The loin faced bit her on her shoulder and picked her up. she was dangling from its mouth with teeth sunken in her shoulder. She knew she was going to die. the horrible pain in her shoulder was so unbearble that she wanted to scream. but her voice seemed stuck in her throat. She thought about her brother. How he 'll survive and then about Luke. How he would die from the guilt. Just then she saw a flash of black and then someone caught her i there arms. She was only aware of a voice saying that she was bleeding furiously and then she lost her consciousness.
