Chapter 9: Revenge isn’t always the key

Maria glared at her. "What do you mean?" She said in anguish, Beatrice shrugged. "Might as will tell you or else you would eventually continue this unhealthy routine of yours." She plainly stated.

'Talk about yourself.' Someone in her mind said which she ignored as she started talking about Maria's parents. "I was supposed to kill you along with your parents because that was my boss ordered me to do… but your mother begged me not to kill you because you know nothing about what is going on…"

~Flashback~

Beatrice look at the ordinary house in front of her as she was drenched by the rain because she doesn't want to bring her umbrella with her, her reason was, it's only going to slow her down.

She grabbed her gun from it's holder, though Beatrice always keep her weapons on her thigh she it will be not suspicious. "I better end this quick so I can still get some rest." She whispered to herself as she walked at the backdoor of the house.

Though she noticed that the backdoor was lock making her smirk. 'Clever but this won't stop me from completing this mission.' She thought as she grabbed her hairpin from her hair and pushed it inside the keyhole of the door.

Beatrice twist and turned it until she heard a click sound, meaning she managed to unlock the door, but as she opened it, she was confronted face-to-face by her target with a gun facing her face.

Beatrice however, wasn't fazed by the gun as she only stared blankly without any emotions at it. 'I can't believe it! My target is so much intriguing than most of the targets that I encountered from my past missions!' She grinned 'Oh please! Pull the trigger Mr. Scarlet! I always thought about ending my suffering from this cruel world of ours that we are currently living!' Beatrice thought with excitement, her eyes was twinkling with hope.

The Mr. Scarlet was taken aback by it, but then, his wife slammed a empty bottle of wine at Beatrice head causing her to pass out as well as the bottle of wine broke from the impact.

Mrs. Scarlet panicked as she thought that she killed the poor girl since Beatrice was around 10 years old that time. "Oh My God! I killed the poor girl!" She exclaimed, she look at her husband ang glared. "Why didn't you tell me that it was a young girl?! I thought that you were talking to a Mafia member who is tasked to kill us!" She yelled in irritation towards her husband for not informing her.

"Dear! She is a Mafia member! And worse of all, she's also the mafia executive known as the Deadly Butterfly and the youngest executive in the mafia's history! You did the right thing of doing that to her!" Mr. Scarlet responded, Mrs. Scarlet's eyes widened as she look at Beatrice unconscious body in sympathy.

"Don't show any sympathy to that monster dear! She killed and tortured many people in her own hands!" Mr. Scarlet told his wife, Mrs. Scarlet glared at her husband. "Are you out of your mind?! She's still a child! How can you call someone like her a monster that you don't even know her personality and her past yet?!" Mrs. Scarlet yelled at her husband in rage.

Beatrice body started shaking as she started giggling, she then stood up while stumbling a little but immediately regained her balance as if she wasn't hit at all. "I'm surprised that someone saw me as me and not being called as a monster." Beatrice stated as she faced them with a grin, the blood from her head injury trailed down to her face.

Mr. Scarlet pointed his gun at Beatrice again and shoved Mrs. Scarlet behind him to protect her. Beatrice saw how Mr. Scarlet's hold of the gun as it is shaking so she moved forward.

"Come on Mr. Scarlet shoot me already! I'm tired of these cruel-world of ours! Shoot this girl who you called a monster!" Beatrice exclaimed with a crazed grin, as Mr. Scarlet pulled the trigger, his wife run in front of Beatrice taking the hit of the bullet.

Mr. Scarlet's eyes widened as he saw his wife collapsed after taking the hit, Beatrice only stared blankly at the scene.

~End of Flashback~

"Your mother took her last breath after begging me to not include you into their messes. When your father couldn't feel your mother's warmth anymore, he lost his sanity and gone berserk. He started attacking me in full of vengeance, as he blamed me the death of his wife. As I was about to kill him, I heard the police siren's sound from the outside. So instead of killing him. I made him disabled instead by breaking his legs so he can't walk anymore, after that I flee away from the scene since I know that none of the police will believe him because of his unstable condition, but because I granted your mother's wish and, also didn't manage to kill your father. I got punished by the boss himself and injected poison in my system, he also did something in my right eye as I couldn't feel anything when I touched it." Beatrice finished as she showed Maria what she meant by her right eye, by poking it as she didn't show any movement of discomfort.

"Why should I believe you?! I saw our house got burned down! And you were the one who burned it!" Maria angrily said, Beatrice only continued to stare blankly at Maria. "As I told you, your father didn't die, but only your Mother, I burned the house so there will be no evidences will be found. It is up to you if you believe me or not, I'm sorry of what am I going to do to you since the police is here." Beatrice stated.

She run towards Maria and without any warning, she punched Maria's stomach causing the girl to pass out, Beatrice lay Maria to the ground gently, as she started to walk away.

You still doesn't know how cruel this world is… as revenge isn't always the key, because the cycle will only repeat on itself without you knowing it.' Thought Beatrice as she walked out of the other side of the alley, but all of a sudden, the poison took a tool at her as she coughed out blood, her blood is the only thing she saw before everything suddenly went all black.
