The Dinner

It was almost dusk when Jack was roaming around the most mysterious place of the village. If he was not living in urban areas where every thing was a news for media who was always trying to spice things up for their viewers, jack could be known as great explorer. He went to all those places that the villagers never stepped in but he was always reluctant to visit this mountain, not because he was afraid of ghosts and goblins but because he always felt a strange connection to this place and the man who disappeared here mysteriously. The place looked like a dungeon of rocks but all the rocks were colored black. The area was wide enough to keep all of the villagers at once. The place was on certain height from the village.jack could smell jasmine but there were no plants or flowers. The sunlight was going down and the shadows started to lurk at the place. Jack felt a strong chill as the light went dim the chill grew stronger. Suddenly he heard a noise outside the place as someone was screaming of pain. He ran outside and found sam shivering and screaming and staring at some shadow. Jack went to him and gave him slap right in the face which shut up sam "would you please stop dramatizing!" Sam pointed at the shadow and did not move his gaze to jack. Jack looked in his pointing direction "oh for God's sake that is a cat" he sighed "what are you doing here didn't I tell you not to follow me everywhere" he said in authoritative manner. "I do not have any interest in your scary adventures, I love my life and have no plans of wasting it like you. Father sent me, he is waiting for you" Sam paused "you forgot right! We have guests at dinner" he reminded Jack. Jack put his pointed finger down from his face "of course I remember, I was on my way back" "Yeah sure like always" Sam answered in sarcastic tone. They both walked home to find that guests had already arrived. " you are already here" Sam went straight to Meesha and kissed her hand on which Sara had to remind them by coughing that there were other people as well. "oh hi aunti and Ms. Sara right!" Sam pointed at Sara and she nodded pleasantly. Jack entered the room and formally paid his greetings to everybody avoiding eye contact with Sara and Meesha. "You remember Jack! Meesha?"Uncle James inquired Jack and he gave a faded smile and a nod "She is Cacelions granddaughter and has a pretty friend also on visit with her" he pointed towards Sara "and Sara this is jack my other son" Sara and Jack exchanged smiles and Sara noticed the stiffness of Jack's manners. They started their dinner and Sam took his place next to Meesha where he kept talking to her in lower tone throughout the dinner while everybody else was quiet. After noticing their giggles twice James thought it would be better to start a little discussion "So Meesha and Sara, how do you like the village" both girls looked at each other and then at James when Sara said " we like it but grandmother says we can only visit Northern part because Southern part is dangerous and full of snakes and ghosts" then she laughed "I never said ghosts"Cacelion corrected. Meesha took the opportunity to take James' opinion as the incident from the other night still had effect on her "seriously uncle, is there something to be afraid of in that part" James took another spoonfull of his food quietly and then calmly answered her" that part is just inhabited you know and that is it, we do not really go there except for necessary road work plus there is nothing much to look. The real beauty of the village is in this part and you will find it very interesting and people here are also nice" he explained to them casually. Meesha was not satisfied but she smiled and nodded.
