Making Sense Of A Confusing Situation

(Project Harbinger Facility)

Frost gets out of the elevator when he hears snake fist on comms again "As I suspected...Alma can sense sergeant frost without amplification" Frost responds "Who the hell is Alma?" Snake Fist responds "Shes the mother of the apocalypse" Frost doesn't say anything but hears Stokes over the comms "I'm at a loss for words" Frost chuckles "You and me both-" he hears more of Vanke's men and hugs the wall before reloading his rifle and getting out of cover to waste the two men before more show up but are taken care of with a few incendiary grenades. Frost sighs "Armacham really is trying to cover up their dirty little secrets". He continues walking through the facility until he hears screaming and walks near reinforced window to see some kind of creatures walking on all fours wrapped head to toe in bandages attacking some hospital staff, Frost's eyes widen "What the fuck is that thing?" He shrugs it off and continues on through the facility. He walks down the stairs slowly only to see Alma again, he approaches her cautiously only for her to disappear, he hears her say "I want them back" Frost wonders to himself "What could she possibly want in this god forsaken place?" He shrugs it off and continues walking through the facility and finds more of Vanke's men and chases them down through a closed door only to see one of them get pulled into another room and screams being heard, the other man turns to see Frost but Frost just shoots him in the face and continues walking through the facility and wastes a few more of Vanke's men when he feels his head hurt again and he is knocked into a vision of his own.

(Flashback)

"He's unnatural" he hears a voice say. Another voice replies "In what way he looks perfectly healthy to me", the first voice lets out a sigh "Physically yes there's nothing wrong with him at all in fact he's a powerful physical specimen...but it's his mind that I'm worried about". The second voice doesn't respond for a few seconds and sounds confused but intrigued "Then what's the concern" the first voice breathes deeply "He's emotionally...numb you could say like an ice cube, doesn't react to anything even gunfire".

(End Of Flashback)

Frost grips his head in pain "What is this...why is this in my head?" He growls and slaps himself to shake it off before continuing his heading through the facility. He finds another elevator and gets into it before hitting the button and waiting as it goes up, he picks up Stokes on comms again "Frost I just saw Aristide get into an elevator, I'm going to try and catch up with her, you focus on getting of the facility" Frost responds "Understood be careful" he cuts the comm off and walks out of the elevator. He finds himself in an operation area and sees that he's in the observation area, he looks down from the glass to see the operating room covered in blood and scattered surgical tools. He then sees Alma again however this time with a few doctors operating, he looks closely at the vision "Is that...me?" The vision ends and Frost thinks for a moment before he jumps down only to be attacked by two of those creatures he saw earlier, he pulls out his shotgun and pulls the two apart before inspecting their bodies "Ugh, burnt flesh, what the hell are these things" he kicks it in the head just to sure before moving on.

(Project Harbinger Facility)

He walks down the hall to another closed door when he hears his name be called out "Frost" he recognises the voice "Redd?" He kicks open the door only to see him dangling off a hospital bed with some kind of medical device stabbing into his chest periodically "Redd what-" he is cut off by Redd speaking again "We have to help her...can you hear? She's crying" Frost listens closely and sure enough hears faint sobbing but he quickly ignores it and climbs through the blood soaked vent "Can't wait for this nightmare to be over" he drops down from the vent only to hear Fox's voice over the comms and hears the sobbing from earlier "I know why she's crying. They took her babies. She never even got to hold them" Fox's connection breaks up and Frost thinks about what he said "She's a grieving mother...what kind of kids could a woman like her even have?" He sighs and continues heading further into the facility to find an exit. He walks through another door only to get grabbed by Fox who grabs him by the throat and pushes him up against the wall "Fox what the hell-" he cuts him off "Stay away from her she's mine" he lets go and holds his head in agony before looking up at Frost "Forst?" He is then pushed by against the wall by an invisible force before Frost sees a powerful gust of air and yellow and black portal appear and swallow Fox whole. Frost gets to his feet and recalibrates his visor "What the hell is she doing to them?", he sighs and continues walking down the hallways only to hear more voices "Just listen to me there's-" the voice is cut short by gunfire, Frost swings the corner and sees more of Vanke's men which he probably kills with a grenade and some more bullets, he hears his gun click and sighs "Out of ammo" he throws it away and picks up one of Vanke's men's rifles before continuing on. He starts walking down a walkway only for the pipes around him to start bursting with flames coming out of them, he quickly runs through and manages to avoid being burnt alive "That was close" he spots one of Vanke's men running away and chases him through a tunnel and throws a grenade at him killing the man and the others who were waiting for him, "Damn idiots, should have signed their release forms" he kicks open the door only to see Vanke again behind some reinforced glass "I was hoping you'd show up here now I can bury your ass along with the rest of this unnatural fuckery" Frost growls and try's to shoot at him but the glass stops his bullets. Frost kills the rest of Vanke's men and sighs "Just how many guys does this man have?" He continues on through the facility when his head hurts again and another vision ensues.

(Flashback)

"What did you mean earlier by emotionally numb?" The other voice replies "He has the severest case of Alexithymia I've ever seen not only can he not recognise or feel emotion at all, he doesn't react to anything else around him except for food and drinks and the voices and motions of the staff" the first voice doesn't say anything for a few moments but responds with a intrigued tone "Hm, could he be used for anything" the first voice replies with a concerned tone "What are you suggesting sir?" The second voice replies heartily "He would make an excellent black ops member...his lack of emotion and understanding would mean he wouldn't ask questions and wouldn't care about losses only that the job be done" the first voice responds with a stuttering voice "I-I-um didn't think about that...are you sure that's wise?" The second voice laughs "Trust me it'll work out just fine"
