Triplets (2)

The strengthened Oscillations caused an uproar among the kingdoms and further enhanced their defenses, as Vocisklesma. It has requested aid from other pillars to ask for reinforcements and the war has escalated well enough that other kingdoms have started to bulk their lines with the proper utilities needed to proceed with defending their territories.

It was impossible for these triplets who were a year younger than me to know this kind of information considering the severity of this. News like this would likely bring the public in terror and fear. Maybe a white lie would help but even then things could get hectic.

I attentively listened to the triplets as they began to state facts that were shockingly close to impossible which made me doubt the validity of their source. It was immensely suspicious to know that these kids somehow has classified information that would be kept a secret from the public and would probably reprimand those that know of its existence.

I need to ask them about how they got this information and know that this information was valid and was not a rumor or hearsay about the ongoing state of the kingdom. I need to verify whether what they have said would be true and if so then I must work much harder if I want to keep my oath true and alive.

'I don't know if Y knows anything about this, however, he certainly has an idea of what is happening around the kingdom. He mentioned something about the crows, so maybe he can tell me more about them' I thought as I recalled Y's statement when we were inside the abode.

"How do the three of you know this information, this is not something that you could just get from a rumor that spreads among the village," I asked.

"This happened a few hours ago while we were busy trying to buy things in the City. In case you didn't know young master we are quite far from the City of Sheen, it is a trip that would take a few hours by foot and an hour by carriage. It is where we buy our supplies, everything we serve, eat, everything." Ethan explained stopping to look at Atlas.

"While we were buying ingredients that we needed, we saw a ridiculously large bird that flew in the sky, out of curiosity or stupidity Leo followed the bird. It brought us to a dark alley, since birth we were taught about stealth so the bird probably didn't sense us, as we went deeper. We found it talking to a strange man that was wearing a hood that perfectly concealed his face. The only thing that we saw was the box that he carried, it seemed old and creepy. After that, we left." Atlas continued to explain the story and stopped to look at Leo.

"The bird was cool". That was all Leo said.

I took the time to analyze what was going on trying to comprehend everything in place and think about how it all happened. Everything felt too sudden as if the world was speeding up its demise, well it is but you know the hasteful act of destruction is too fast even for others since it was just a few days since then.

'The coincidences shouldn't be that different from mine, there should be distinct happenings that would allow me to somehow connect everything.' I deeply thought 'No, I shouldn't dwell too much on this too little information, and trying to come up with a deduction would only prove things to be harder.'

"Thank you for your explanation, however, there is just one thing that I couldn't understand, how come you can hear that much information? How near were you when you guys encountered the strange man?" I squinted my eyes at them as I waited for their replies.

They all looked at each other leaning and talking in whispers deliberately trying to decide the course of action. They huddled and continued to talk about their whispers and occasionally one of their heads would poke out from the huddled position and give a stare at me then go back, this went on for a few minutes until they finally lined up and stood straight. I waited for a while until Ethan once again took the stage as he said their agreed answer.

"We under no circumstances share this information with anyone but the Boss and Boss's Boss, but since you are Boss's Boss' son we think that it should be okay." Ethan stepped forward and talked to me in a gloomy and somber manner.

'I think they are talking about my father when they Boss's Boss? They are brothers but do they have a hierarchical standing with their siblings as well?' I thought about the peculiar term as I once again focused my attention on listening to them.

Ethan looked over his shoulder and glanced at Leo their eyes met and Leo's began to unknowingly twitch. He gave a deep sigh and walked forward and cleaned his red necktie trying to look formal and fancy. He gave a final look at Ethan his eyes saying 'That was too short of an answer' with a sneer and sighed before talking facing towards me.

"Young Master our kind is called the Moonshades, in the dark we have enhanced abilities such as super strength, hearing, and of course heightened magical powers. We were rescued by your uncle after our village was razed by the monsters that lurk in the Everthorn Forest." Leo closed his right eye and with his left open tilted his head enough for it to see Atlas who was already putting his hand on his forehead.

Just like Leo, Atlas took in a deep breath and then blew a really long sigh. He walked slowly and adjusted his blue tie with both of his hands, which took him longer than Leo did.

"And since then we decided to honor the Boss with our services and wholeheartedly support all of his decision." Atlas said so, "Erm…Young master, I don't want to be presumptuous but I don't suppose you recognize us from the time we gave you the letter that the Boss left us?"

'Hmmm? Did I meet them before?' I thought deeply about what he meant and soon enough something clicked.

The first time I entered the Abode, met Styx and Marie, then after that Y., I remember talking to some servants who gave me a letter. I was a bit shocked that I didn't remember their appearances, although I was in a drained state how could I forget to recognize the people that help me?

'Ah that's bad I forgot about them, I should apologize' I thought as I wanted to apologize to them but before I could Atlas interfered.

"It is okay Young Master, I know it was hard for the Boss to suddenly dash off to some faraway land without informing you, I am sure he must have a reason," Atlas said with a sympathetic tone.

'Yeah I think I should just go with that story' I smiled brightly amused at his thought but under it, I was thinking that it wasn't the reason that I was sad but it works as well.

"No, I am sorry I didn't recognize you guys right away, but yes I was feeling under the weather that time thank you for reminding me" Even so I just apologized.

"I won't pry about anything else, but, I want you to tell me the full details that you have heard from the man and the big crow." Interested by the news they caught it would seem that knowing this would possibly prevent something in the future.

"Yes young master, but before we do I think it is necessary that you should eat breakfast. Leo and Ethan can you guys bring everything up here and set them nicely so as to let the young master eat?" Atlas replied to me and talked about breakfast.

I was so invested in the topic that I forgot to eat breakfast, although it was really not advisable to skip it due to my deteriorating body.

"I would recommend that you eat while you listen to what I will say, they were speaking about serious things that I also think that we shouldn't have listened to. Alas, not much can I do since we already knew about the information that we have unintentionally eavesdropped." Atlas continued to recommend suggestions in a mature way in his monotone voice.

I know that he was right, I didn't fight back or show hesitation against that offer. I quickly laid back down on the bed and stuck my head through the swift pillow that seems to like my head as ate it with its fluffy material. I felt the breeze through my hair, nose, and ears as they showed signs of coming change in the atmosphere and to the whole kingdom.

I lay there in wait for the meal that would possibly be the last meal that I would ever so take lightly. It was to be an anticipated wonderful meal that would probably be remembered by me as the last fabulous meal that I take with no burdens or regrets.

I just hope that before I could get better, things won't be any worse than this. Once again, I was wrong.
