The wolves growled and had drool rolling down their chin as their speed increased, their eyes blood red compared to their previously yellow eyes.
The wolves went rabid as they charged towards a specific point in the army formation.
A squad where a werewolf was watching with bloodied eyes.
'That howl from before was meant to imobolise me!' Jonah shouted in his mind.
He looked at the upcoming beast tide with fear.
Jonah was the calmest of the recruits until this moment!
He was stuck in a hard place right now.
But before the wolves could reach the army the commander gave an order out.
"Everyone, charge!"
As soon as the commander gave his order out, blood red light started to float around the whole army. Only the squad commanders and recruits with unsually strong wills did not become blood thirsty.
The soldiers became similar to the rabid wolves and started attacking with immense force.
Damian had gotten out of the spell before they charged at the army, finally getting his proper state of mind back.
He looked at the trembling Jonah looking with horror to the front.
Damian looked at the army and immediately he became just as wide-eyed as Jonah.
He saw soldiers charging into attacks willingly, stabbing the mouths of the beasts after they had bitten into them.
Some soldiers had their hand or leg stuck beneath elephant hooves screaming in rage and constantly stabbing the beasts they were trapped under out of pure frustration. Some even cut their own limbs off so they could escape and continue their rampage across the animal army.
Damian saw these soldiers charge with immense hatred in their hearts. Abandoning any sense of rationality they had.
Damian observed with shock and a bit of coldness in his heart. But the most he felt was anger.
Someone dared to manipulate him!
Damian's anger was bursting out of his figure as he stared at the rampaging army and the commander standing leisurely by the side, just observing the battlefield with no worries for the lives of these soldiers.
Damian was going to charge in and vent his anger on the beasts that caused this.
Yeah, it was all their fault!
Damian's eyes were becoming blood red again before he suddenly felt a shock go through his shoulder.
Damian was suddenly pulled out of the battlefield and was back to the slums.
He saw someone's mother being played with by a group of men. Breaking her arms and leg as she resisted the lustful assault from them.
He saw a boy with a undecipherable face just look on as all of this was happening with a cold look.
The mother died, it was soon the boy's turn.
As the boy was being stripped from his holes filled shirt he suddenly looked into the distance.
The boy stared directly at Damian as his suffering was about to begin.
But before the scene could progress he was suddenly thrusted back to the battlefield where soldiers were going rabid and beasts were innumerable.
He soon looked at his shoulder and saw Jonah hold his shoulder, panting while his face seemed to have lost colour.
Damian quickly patted Jonah's hand off his shoulder, and looked back at the battlefield with cold rationality.
He just realised he was being controlled again.
Damian was starting to feel anger again, but before it could affect his mentality he quickly shoved it down into the abyss of his heart.
Damian continued looking, he started to notice a peculiar detail.
All of the wolves were coming towards him.
'Wait no, it's not me...' Damian thought.
He looked over his shoulder and saw Jonah staring at the wolves with a resolute gaze. Submitting himself to what's to come.
Damian peeked back at the wolves with the corner of his eyes and saw them all drooling and crying blood of tears as they looked at Jonah.
Every single wolf on the battlefield were staring at Jonah.
Some of them where headless and they still stared at Jonah.
Without a doubt there was hatred in every single one of their gazes.
Even after death the tears of blood would not stop.
The wolves were all trying to get to Jonah.
Lucky for him, since all of the soldiers had turned into bloody fiends they were aiming for the first beasts that crossed their paths.
Most of these beasts were the wolves charging at Jonah, so he was safe under the protection of thousands of soldiers.
Damian looked at the battlefield as he started remembering all of his plans he had constructed this morning.
All of those plans were now useless.
What was he meant to do?
He was already implicated into this with Jonah being surrounded by hundreds of wolves in a circle.
And he was right besides Jonah.
The only way for him to survive is to fig-
A wolf suddenly jumped at him from his blind spot.
Damian tried to react but his body was too slow as he saw the wolf hurl at him in slow-motion.
Suddenly a shiny light was seen from the corner of his eyes.
Then an instant later that wolf was split in half.
Damian looked at the tip of the sword, following it's shape as he finally gazed upon a gold blond haired man staring solemnly at the wolf corpse.
Damian immediately became alert!
The fight had begun.

Sarah suddenly felt a chill down her spine as she was reading the book about surgeory techniques on how to remove dislodged items from a patient.
She closed her book for a moment and furrowed her brows.
She sighed with a melancholic look before she left her bed and started roaming around campus.
'Hope your okay Damian...'

Damian was now on full alert as he saw the next wolves arrive at his position.
Jonah was going to help him before Damian shouted:
"Don't! Deal with those other three first."
Jonah nodded, then he started battle with the three wolves that were pouncing on him.
Damian's opponent looked just like the other wolves. Bloody tears and a frothing mouth.
The wolf tried to change direction trying to charge at Jonah, but Damian quickly stopped in-betwee and shoved the wolf off.
The wolf snarled before it tried to reach Jonah again. But this time it was skewered upon Damian's blade.
Damian quickly kicked the wolf off his sword before a new wolf arrived.
The wolf did exactly the same as the first one, but this time it stood it's ground instead of running blindly into Damian's sword.
Damian looked at the wolf with a piercing gaze as he saw the wolf use an intelligent action.
Damian didn't worry about that, instead focusing on his current opponent.
The wolf ran Damian then suddenly slid under him.
The wolf had aimed at his legs instinctually and slid down jaws first. Hoping to immobolise this sharp human.
Damian was alarmed for a moment before he leaped on top of the wolf.
Damian landed on the wolf's head then speared it's head.
But before the sword could reach the wolf's brains, suddenly another wolf tackled him to the ground.
Damian quickly jammed his sword between the tackling wolf's jaw and had swiped his sword across the edges of it's mouth.
The tackling wolf's jaw was hanging by a thread before it rushed at Damian again, it's jaw now falling to the ground.
The wolf had lost it's teeth so it used it's claws instead, slashing towards Damian's chest as it got close.
Damian was caught in a tight spot. It had attacked him while it was on top of the other wolf's head and had temporarily made him lose balance.
The wolf was attacking Damian in a flurry not allowing him to regain his balance as Damian kept on blocking.
Soon Damian had finally regained his balance before the wolf had suddenly clawed at him, the wolf being too close for him to block effectively.
Damian's only choice was the shove the wolf with his shoulder but before he could enact that move he was suddenly he saw another wolf arrive sliding it's jaws towards his feet.
The previous wolf that Damian was about to kill had come back for revenge. Once again aiming at his legs while the other wolf was clawing at Damian's chest in the air.
Damian couldn't dodge or shove the top wolf aside. If he took a step back he would be piled on by these wolves and mauled to death.
So Damian did the only thing he could.
He came closer to the wolves.
Damian placed his sword horizontily while ducking.
He quickly pierced the wolf aiming at his feet and had blocked the wolf at his chest by shouldering it's stomach. Effectively blocking the top wolf and killing the bottom wolf.
The wolf snarled as it was shouldered on it's stomach and testicles. Falling on it's back and rolling on the floor for a few breaths of time.
Damian quickly jumped at the rolling wolf and slashing at it's neck. Using it's own rolling momentum to give his cut extra force behind it.
Damian had killed three wolves till now so he quickly looked towards where Jonah was.
He remembered that Jonah was fighting three wolves when he left, but now all he could see was a swarm of wolves.
There had to be around twelve wolves currently jumping at Jonah, desperately shoving them off as one of them had bit his shoulder.
Damian sprinted towards Jonah and quickly pierced at one of the wolves the floor.
Splat!
Damian had stepped forward before he stepped on a half eaten arm and squishing it.
Damian looked at his feet with wide eyes.
'Jonah has lost his arm!'
Damian quickly jumped on a squirming wolf and immediately slashed at a wolf that was about to bite Jonah's face off.
Jonah's face was scrunched up as he continued to shove off the wolves and killing them.
Damian looks at the wolves surrounding Jonah with a determined look.
Damian makes a quick decision and starts to slash at them one by one. Some had gnawed at his legs, but he quickly kicked them off as they took a piece with them.
Damian finally freed Jonah from the wolves when he saw his hand healing at visible speed.
Damian didn't pay attention for too long but he would keep that in his memory.
Damain quickly turned around and saw a crowd of wolves coming towards him and Jonah.
Most of the wolves had been killed but there was still about fifty or so wolves.
The soldiers still remaining on the battlefield were less than a hundred as they fought off some of the remaining beasts from the battlefield.
Most of the surviving soldiers were squad leaders weirdly enough but Damian didn't have time to analyse the details.
All he knew was: Soldiers less then beasts = hard fight for them!
Damian quickly looked at the approaching crowd of beasts and charged at them.
He had to somehow break up the groupings of the wolf so he could take them one by one so he quickly ducked down to grab a dead soldier's sword and threw it towards a group of five wolves.
Damian had aimed for their legs so he could incapacitate them and to continue fighting the other beast groups.
Damian looked at the approaching wave of wolves rushing at him as if he was the last meal in the apocalypse.
He was going to give these suckers the best meal of their lives.
Holy shit this was long! And it's not even finished yet!?
Hope to see you guys on the next chapter.
Today is a three parter special!
