Chapter Twenty-Two: What are you afraid of?

(Emi's POV)

    I spent the next few minutes studying the familiar features of her face. I closed my eyes for a second as Kami suddenly appeared before me. Her breath was hot against my ear as she spoke softly.

     "Find the strength, Emi." My eyes widened as my racing pulse slowly went still. The once dark cave turned into a peaceful field of white Lilly's. The atmosphere instantly became calming.

     "Tell me what you fear, Emi." Kami instructed as I took a deep breath, closing my golden eyes for a minute as I quickly reopened them. "What if I enter the darkness..and can't return?" I asked, the truth slipping through my lips as she gently touched my face, her fingertips leaving my skin numb. " Emi.. don't worry." She whispered. "There's always there can't be darkness, without light. Find the key to your light." She instructed me as I bowed my head. Suddenly I knew.

     When those words escaped her lips, Levi's dark eyes and breathtaking smile flashed in my mind. He was my key. I felt my heart skip a beat as I thought about him. Find the strength, huh? I took a deep breath. I needed to be strong.

     "Ask..me again. Please." I returned my gaze to hers. My golden eyes having a fire hidden behind them. She slowly smirked as she spoke. "What do you fear?" Her voice echoed as the Lilly's that surrounded us slowly started to disintegrate.

      "Nothing." I answered her question as she quickly grabbed my face as she licked her lips. "Good. Now wake up." She stated as she lunged towards my neck. A sharp pain appeared in my knock as she sunk her teeth into my skin.
