Then a tall man, with rough black hair, hazel eyes, and dressed in a tailored design suit walked in with his hands in his pocket.   After a moment of silence, he looked up at me and then at Dad.   "Mr. Bennett, it's you…can we please resolve this case somewhere else? My daughter is getting married now." Father said with a pleading tone and I was surprised, so I walked towards him and shivered in fear.   I couldn't help but be scared, the man's aura was far more dangerous than that of my boss and he seemed like someone from the second generation of billionaires, how did Father get entangled with him?   "No, I want it to be settled here," he added.   I clenched my fist as I swallowed the lump in my throat. Can't he see I am about to get married right now? "I understand," Father said in a submissive tone, this only meant that he was in the wrong.   "Father, who is this?" I asked when Natalie rushed towards me before whispering a few words, my lips fell in shock. Alexander Bennett?   "Bruno, show him the contract." Mr. Bennett signaled and a man dressed in a brown suit approached us with a blue file containing a well printed contract.   Father held it with shivering hands as he read the contract "This…" he stuttered and then glared at me.   Out of curiosity, I grabbed the file from Father before reading it, there was just one clause written on it.   He wanted me to marry him today and pay off father's debt or else father will have to spend the rest of his life in jail.   The paper fell off my hand as I glared at Mr. Bennett, this was the first time we met so why would he want to marry me? Now that I remember, the other man looks familiar. He is the man I scolded yesterday, did they want to take revenge?   "Father, please tell me you don't owe him such a huge sum," I asked with a glimmer of hope, praying that this was all a dream. Caleb walked towards me as he was confused as well, he picked up the paper and read it.   "This is crazy." he launched his fist to hit Mr. Bennett who quickly dodged it and some guards hurried and pinned Caleb down.   "It's my wedding, you can't replace me," Caleb said in a bitter tone. check out my other book 180 DAYS TO DIVORCE

Blueberry Pancakes

Olivia's POV:

The next morning, I was awakened by loud cries, and I could recognize the voice as Orlene's. What was wrong with her?

I hurriedly put on my slippers before rushing out of the room, only to find the whole place a mess. Mr. Bennett sat by the stairs as he watched his sister throw things.

What was she doing? Ellen and Bruno also stood there watching her.

"Orlene," I called out, and she glared at me. There was no light in her eyes. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she drove her wheelchair to the table and pushed the small coffee table down.

My eyes widened in shock, and I glared at Mr. Bennett, who didn't stop her. I quickly rushed towards her and crouched to her level.

"What's wrong?" I asked and gently wiped her face. She kept sobbing, and it was heartbreaking to watch.

"Don't touch me." Orlene scolded, and I frowned. I remembered that the first time I met her in the sitting room, it was a mess. Why does she break things?

"Everything is fine; be calm, okay?" I hugged her tightly; she struggled for a while, then she was calm and even hugged me back.

My eyes met with Mr. Bennett, and I could see sadness in his eyes. There were a lot of things I didn't know about them.

"I will make you breakfast; you can tell me what you want," I said to her as I tried to cool the tension.

Orlene fiddled with her fingers, then glared around, and her gaze stopped at Mr. Bennett.

"I am sorry," she said, and he sighed before walking towards us.

"Tell her, what do you want for breakfast?" he said, and she smiled in relief before turning towards me.

"Will you cook anything I want?" she asked, and I nodded before pulling her cheeks playfully.

Then she went into thinking mode, and her eyes brightened. "I want waffles with toppings like strawberries and whipped cream, onion bagels, and blueberry pancakes." Her expression changed when she mentioned blueberry pancakes.

"I don't want blueberry pancakes," she said, and I got worried and glared at Mr. Bennett.

"Alice will be here to prepare you for the party tomorrow; I will leave now," he said, turning to leave.

"Mr. Bennett," I called in disbelief. Was he going to leave his sister in such a condition? And he was even talking about a party I didn't want to attend.

He glared at me, and I decided to swallow my words. I shook my head in denial, and he left with Bruno.

Ellen walked and lifted the table before smiling at me. "I heard the annual celebration of the Bennett Enterprise is always magical," she commented, and I was curious to know about it, but I was more curious about Orlene's condition.

"Why don't you want blueberry pancakes?" I asked, and she drove her wheelchair towards the kitchen, and I followed her. When we got to the kitchen, she pointed at the large backside door, which I didn't take note of.

I pushed the door open and discovered it was a beautiful open space; it even had a small river.

"It used to be my mother's garden; she planted blueberries and always made me pancakes," she explained, and I felt bad for her.

She was still too young to have lost her mom, and her dad was remarried. I could feel her pain. I also lost my mom when I was a kid, and my dad got remarried.

**

After having breakfast, Alice showed up with her men pushing wardrobes inside the sitting room. I was surrounded by jewelry, heels, party gowns, and even underwear.

"I selected the best piece for you to choose; this is called Alice's collection," she said proudly as she pointed at the wardrobe of gowns.

I smiled nervously as it felt like a dream. Orlene was excited and kept scanning the dresses. Then she picked up a lipstick and pointed toward me.

"I think this one is better than Kisses; we should have let Lara Russo have it," she said, and I scoffed. She would have let the lipstick go if she wanted, but she was such a domineering kid.

"Lara Russo?" Alice asked, and Orlene nodded.

"You see the plaster on Olivia's head? It is because of Lara," Orlene explained, and Alice's eyes widened in shock.

"Now I understand, people said she might have offended a big shot, and that's why her life turned upside down. It turns out she offended Mr. Bennett," she explained, and I got confused about what she was talking about.

Noticing the confused look on my face, she shoved her phone towards me, and it showed pictures of a lady in a drunken state; she had no makeup or jewelry, and she looked rather pale.

"This is Lara?" I said in disbelief, What happened to her?

"Her father went bankrupt in a day, and he got upset, saying it was Lara's fault, so he threw her out of the family and also froze all her accounts. Then she was chased out of every public place she visited today; no one wants her," she explained, and my jaws dropped.

How could her life crumble in one single day? Yesterday, Lara was still fine and mighty.

Could it be Mr. Bennett? He made Lara an outcast.

"Who did she offend?" I asked even when I was sure of the answer.

"Let's not talk about her; you should make your choice already." Alice said, and I frowned. Then I received a message from my phone from Mr. Bennett.

Don't forget to bring me lunch.

I read it with a frown. If he was serious about having lunch with me at the office, then why didn't we have breakfast together?

My conscience wasn't at peace when I thought that Mr. Bennett was responsible for Lara Russo's misfortune, and it was all my fault.

I turned to go to my room when Alice blocked my path. "You haven't chosen," she exclaimed.

"The blue one," I said in haste.

"But there is no blue one," Orlene replied, and they were right; I didnt even look at the colors.

"Whatever you choose, I am fine with it," I said and I walked to the bedroom.

Minutes later, I was done freshening up. I walked out of the mansion, and fortunately, Uncle Jack was there.

"Mrs. Bennett, where can I take you?" He asked, and I walked inside the car.
