"Promote? Is he f***ing with me— wait! Promotion!?"

"Why are you talking to yourself?" Auntie Lea noticed me so I come back to myself. "Help me put these trashes outside," she then instructed.

"Yes, auntie," I replied.

We both pushed the cart that has garbage bags towards the back exit of the building. Then some janitors also helped us to take it away from the cart and put in the bin.

"Auntie, do you know that CEO had a girlfriend before?" I asked her while we're walking back inside the building.

"I do not pry in anyone's business, Ericka," she stated.

Her reply made me scratch the back of my head. "Y-yeah but it just doesn't make sense," I muttered in low voice.

"What doesn't make sense? A rich young man, don't have a girl?" she asked.

No, if we really put that my sister and Nathan had a thing before because of that bracelet, then how come no one even noticed it? It's been so d*mn long!

I suddenly felt my phone vibrating so I took it off from my pocket and I saw officer Ijaldo's caller ID. So, I excused myself and went to the corner so I could answer it.

"Yes officer?" I started.

"Positive," I heard him say.

"For?" I asked in confusion.

I heard him paused and then let a deep breath out. "Mr. Nathan Shin's fingerprint was seen visible in the bracelet," he stated.

My hands covered my mouth in shock. I find myself unable to breathe properly. My chest tightens and I couldn't think properly anymore. Everything is making sense.

Then I saw Nathan Shin walking across my sight together with his secretary. Our eyes meet and he just looked at me with his cold stare while I'm dying to run towards him and throw a punch on his face.

How? How did he become connected to my sister? What's with him and my sister? What happened to them before? Is he really the reason why my sister got killed?

"Ericka, please don't do anything risky. Calm yourself and let's plan things out," I heard officer's voice over the phone.

But my mind is already blank. I can't think any straight right now. Not that I can see him walking towards me while talking to his secretary.

"Officer, just let me hit him. I don't think I can keep this feeling," I muttered.

"What? Ericka! Please—" I hung up the call and put again my phone inside my pocket.

He's near. He's near to me. I keep my glare on him and he's still looking at me. I clenched my fist and ready to throw a fit when he himself went to me and grabbed me towards him that made me bury my face on his chest.

"Are you deaf now!?" he yelled at me.

That's when I realized that behind me is a courier pushing lots of boxes of supplied and has been calling me to step beside.

I let go of him and then grabbed his collar and pushed him against the wall. "I'm going to kill you," I whispered in anger.

"Ms. Ericka, what are you doing!?" Kalix yelled at me and tried to pull me but I pushed him.

"F*** off!" I shouted and just focused on glaring at Nathan.

"What the hell is your deal?" he asked me in his serious tone.

I gripped on his collar even harder and then I just felt my tears flowing out on my cheeks. "I'm going to kill you. Once I prove everything, I'll kill you," I threatened him.

Then I saw him smirk and move closer to my ears. "Try me, Ericka. Try me because I will never back off," he whispered and pushed me away. "Stop wasting my time over childishness," he stated and then walks away.

"I swear Nathan Shin, I will take you all down!"

I rushed to the bathroom and then poured my tears. I feel so hurt knowing that the killer of my sister might be really him and I couldn't even do anything about it.

I dialed officer's number and he immediately answers it. "Ericka! What did you do?" I heard him say.

I sob before I reply. "O-officer, I don't think I can do thing a-anymore," I cried. "I don't think I can stay in this place anymore," I continued crying.

"Ericka, grip yourself! I really need your cooperation now that we're getting close. We just need more evidences and we can open the investigation again. Please," he pleaded.

I continued bawling and couldn't answer anymore.

"Fine, let's just clear things out first, okay? Let's not make any move for today and just rest your mind. You get that? I'll call you again," he stated.

"Y-yes," I just replied and then hung up the call.

Then I continued crying in there, helplessly.

What really have you been doing, sis? What were you up to? I just don't understand how did you become connected to them? Did they really kill you? I'm going crazy thinking about all of these!

D*mn.

I stayed for a few more minutes before going out and fix myself. When I get back to our room, Marco immediately noticed me. "Hey! What happened to you?" he asked.

"Nothing," I just replied.

"Are you okay? Aunt Lea is looking for you, she's in the fifteenth floor," he said.

I nods and then walked away. I look outside and it's getting dark already. Some employees are already going out and some are staying up all night to continue working.

I saw Aunt Lea mopping the floor so I helped her. I need to distract my mind. I wanted to stay here as much as I can to gain information and such but I don't think I can do it anymore.

I just feel so tired. I want to give up already.

"Ms. Ericka?" I looked up when I heard my name.

"Y-yes? That's me," I replied to the woman.

"Sir Shin is looking for you, please follow me," she stated that made my eyes widen.

"W-why?" I asked.

"I don't have any idea either, Ms.," she replied.

I followed her and we end up being in the rooftop of the building. The strong wind welcomed me and then I saw Kalix standing far from the CEO who's resting both of his elbows in the railing.

I head towards him and keep my distance between us. "Why?" I asked.

"How's working in here?" he asked like I didn't harass him earlier.

"I'm going to quit," I stated.

He pulled his eyes in front of him then looked at me. "Why? Do you think I'm gonna let you go that easy after what you did?" he asked.

"I have the right to resign," I firmly stated.

"No, not when I'm the CEO," he countered.

"Bulls***."

He laughs and then looks at his front again. "I'm suddenly getting curious. You were so desperate to work in here and now you're going to quit. Why?" he asked.

"Why do you think? Do I have any reason to stay in the company knowing my boss is a murderer?" I shot back.

He looked at me, "What? Me?" he scoffs and laughs. "Bulls***." He cursed.

"If you're just going to f*** around then I'm going now," I stated and turn my back.

"I'm going to offer you a job, Ericka," he started that made me stop from walking.

"I don't care about that anymore," I rejected him.

I heard him again laugh in evil. "You're going to like it. I don't know what do you want from me but trust me, we're going to benefit in each other," he explain further.

I clenched my fist and looked at him in such anger. "What? What is it?" I asked.

"Be my personal assistant, Ericka."
