The warning bell in the mountain pass rang out in the early hours of the morning. The sun had only just risen and illuminated the darkness of the city surrounded by mountains.
The core refining martial artists rushed toward the sound quickly. Li Jun and Master Shen were the first to arrive, using their flying treasures to make the journey in a matter of minutes.
"What is it!?" Master Shen demanded an explanation as his feet touched down on top of the wall. A group of three city guards stood nervously as their captain stopped sounding the alarm and walked out between them.
"Over there, Lord Shen!" He pointed down below the wall, where a small figure sat in the mud with his knees against his chest.
"Did you see anyone else? Is it just him?" Master Shen asked.
Li Jun stared at the young boy, he looked no older than thirteen, he was thin and malnourished.
'Third stage of body refining.' He thought to himself as he observed the boy.
