Chapter 172: The Man-Made God

After the enormous tail swept through the darkness, the vast space on the underground level returned to the quietness it had at the beginning. 

When everyone attempted to locate the shadow they had seen moments before, they discovered that it had vanished into the darkness.

Elder Magritte quickly cast a lighting spell with her staff, illuminating the area with her at the center. 

The light revealed the interior of a large hall, dominated by an enormous orrery in the center, surrounded by rows of towering bookshelves laden with innumerable thick tomes and documents. 

This place appeared to be the Institute's library or archive.

Both elders, having been toppled by the earlier assault, got up and exchanged surprised looks.

"Could that have been... Chairman?"

"Bro!" Luna helped Elias up, concern in her voice. "Are you okay?"
