A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Inside the study…
Sebastian sat in front of the computer, his eyes fixed on the surveillance footage of the airport. He had just received an update on Ella's whereabouts, and his mind raced with possibilities. The video showed a tall woman, her face hidden behind a mask, pushing a patient out of the airport. Sebastian was convinced that it was Ella, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off.
He leaned forward, his elbows resting on the desk as he studied the footage closely. Was Ella a victim of kidnapping, or was this a clever ruse to escape?
Although he was skeptical about the second option, he still couldn't brush off that possibility completely. Ella might have someone reach out to Jasper, who had arranged for someone to take her out of the airport safely without alerting anyone. If not, he wouldn't have abandoned his plan to kill Raulf and run away.
