"How long have you been here?" Elias whispered softly, in fear that someone else might overhear them.
He couldn't see in the darkness, but the taste of her lips alone was all the confirmation he needed of her identity. He trailed his hands down to her arms.
"You've not been eating well," He remarked, heartache clearly in his voice.
Maddison bit her lip as her hands trailed down his arms too.
"I could say the same for you," She replied.
"Without your cooking, it's only natural," He mused in return.
Neither of them needed the light to see that they were both smiling. It had been a while since they stood this close, and held each other's arms. Maddison leaned in closer, laying her head on his chest. She closed her eyes as she focused her senses.
