Chapter 45

Meanwhile, Yvonne sighed and literally did not care about the woman who had just fallen down the stairs. Alexis, drawn by the noise, came out of her room, curious and concerned.

"What is that noise?" Alexis inquired, her eyes widening as she saw her mother lying on the floor downstairs, blood flowing from her head. 

"Mom," Alexis rushed to her mother's side. "Mom," she said, then turned her gaze towards Yvonne, who was still upstairs. "What happened here?" 

"Don't misunderstand," Yvonne explained coolly. "Your mom did this to herself; she was going to push me, but she ended up like this."

Alexis immediately called 911, requesting an ambulance. Within minutes, the ambulance arrived, but Yvonne chose not to follow Alexis to the hospital. 

"Why didn't you follow them to the hospital?" Alisa questioned, still processing the shocking events.
