Chapter 39

Alexis slammed the door in his face, the abrupt sound echoing. Alexis ran upstairs, not sparing a moment to collect her thoughts. She went to Yvonne's room and opened the door without knocking again. 

"Can you please knock before entering inside?" Yvonne said. 

"I have a quick question to ask you." Alexis said. "Did you not want Javier to find you?" 

"Why are you asking?" 

"Yes, or no," Alexis pressed. 

"Yes," Yvonne admitted. 

"Okay," Alexis instructed. "Stay here, and don't leave the room." 

Alexis closed the door and took a deep breath. She went down the stairs and composed herself before opening the door. 

"What was that for?" Red inquired. 

She closed the door behind her as he came outside with a sweater on. 

"Sorry about that; I forgot something." 

Alexis looked behind Red, hoping to see someone. Knowing what she was looking for, Red responded, "Purple did not come with me. So, don't bother to look."
