Chapter 31

"What?" Yvonne exclaimed in shock. The audacity of this woman, making her pregnancy a condition for staying in the house, left her bewildered. How could her pregnancy be any of her business?

"That is my condition for you to stay here or if you don't like it, you can leave. Either way, you have to do one of them today," their mother declared with a smile. 

Nonchalantly, she continued, "I will give you two hours to think about it." 

As their mother turned to leave, Yvonne couldn't hold back and called out, "Ma." She stood in front of her, determined to make her understand. 

"I don't know what misunderstanding you have with me, but I just want to let you know that me and Dr. Phillip are just like father and daughter," she explained.

'I don't know why I have to explain it to her,' she thought.
