Crafty Audrey

Throughout the days that followed, it seemed that Lucas and Audrey were playing hide and seek, with Audrey finding new ways to avoid him and Lucas getting tortured by her absence. Following the first day of the new week when he concluded that Audrey was avoiding him, he consulted his relationship expert/his advisor, Martin.

"How do you know she's running from you?!"martin asked, trying to get the intensity of the situation. " She blatantly avoids me, bro, there's no other thing!", Lucas said as he lay face down on the bed looking at the ceiling as he lay in a starfish position, with Martin sitting at the edge of the bed.

"You can't be too sure, what if, okay, what if she has a lot of things to do, you know how cumbersome the workload at the company can be!"Martin said, urging his brother not to read meaning into insignificant things. "It's really not the workload Martin, I dropped her home all through last week and she had work to do!"lucas said, shifting his position on the bed.

Martin thought about what Lucas said and gave it some thought, 'it was only after he said he liked her she had started running, ahh women!, they are the most complicated creatures in the whole world'. " So what do you want to do now, do you want to keep chasing her, or do you want to brush her off!?", Martin asked again.

Lucas sat up on hearing Martin's question, "of course I like her, I like her a lot, but she keeps running away and doesn't let me show her!", Lucas said before crashing his head into the nearest pillow. " Then it's simple…!"Martin paused looking at his brother before he continued, "keep chasing her, that way, she can tell that you're sincere about your feelings.

" You think so!?", Lucas asked just to be sure, "Yeah, I know so!", Martin confirmed, Lucas stood up to hug his brother in appreciation, " thanks bro!", "it's all right!", Martin replied before he went back to his room. On his way back, he thought of his brother and bus newfound crush who he had earlier sighed a contract with, 'they might be on to something, he's even more hen pecked than when he was with Emily?!'.

Audrey wasn't Lucas's first love interest, the first was a girl from his college days named Emily. They met after being randomly paired on a project in their second year, before that he didn't even know Emily existed. He was mesmerized the first time he saw her and he couldn't take his eyes off even for a second, he always wanted to spend time with her, creating excuses to make her stay longer.

It took a while of Lucas doing odd things before he realized that he liked her, her chirpy persona and every other thing about her. He was courageous enough to tell her, ddeepte the cold expression, he was still bold enough to gather courage and tell her how he felt, but unfortunately, when he confessed to her, she told him she didn't feel the same way about him. Lucas never had any other love interest after that time, well that was until he met Audrey.

Going and coming back from work had become a hard task for Audrey, however leaving the house was the biggest task of all. Who would have thought that the girls would be more cautious just weeks into Audrey's new job!?. Prisca acted like the security guard, informing Audrey of the best time to leave the house and the vantage points she could escape from in the area.

Even when she got to work she was usually glued on her seat, afraid that Lucas would come looking for her. Neither did telecommunications help Lucas as her phone was always unreachable. Just when he was about to give up on the chase, he suddenly remembered that he was a billionaire and he had lots of money. He smiled calling Craig, putting his plans in motion.

The next day, Audrey peeped out of the elevator, looking both ways and sighing, she came out completely out of the elevator when she found that the coast was clear. " Good morning Sasha!", Audrey said, a wide smile plastered on her face as she thought she had successfully escaped Lucas.

"Ohh hey good morning Audrey!", Sasha said before coming out of her enclosed space, she dragged Audrey to a corner before she asked, " have you offended the president by any chance?", she asked curious, "no, why do you ask?", Audrey asked back, shaking her head negatively.

" Well it's unusual that you are called twice in a month by the President!", Sasha said as Audrey cocked her head, realization soon dawned on her and her face paled like she had seen a ghost. "What do you mean!?", Ahdrey asked knowing the answer to her question. " The President's hot assistant came here this morning, he said the President would like to have a word with you when you sign in!", Sasha paused before she continued, "put in a word or two for me with the hot assistant!", she said before she went back to her post of duty.

Audrey couldn't escape him, she knew that if he had no control of her when they were outside, he was the president of THE WG and she couldn't disobey. She dragged her feet to her cubicle before she dropped her bag and went back out, headed for the fiftieth floor, where his office was located.

The elevator dinged jolting Audrey out of her reverie, she walked out with slow steps really wishing she could runaway. Craig looked up to see the person he was assigned to call, " he's waiting for you inside!", Craig said before Audrey entered, she jolted when Craig shut the door behind her.

She turned to see Lucas walking towards her, she was too engrossed in admiring his broad back and his arm viens to see that he was pulling her to the chair, she blinked hurriedly when she sat down. Lucas didn't need an invitation to sit directly opposite her, he asked the one burning question he really wanted to ask.

"Why have you been running from me?!", Audrey's eyes almost bulged out of it's sockets seeing how close they were. She stared deep into his blue orbs seeing the pain she had caused him as he asked her the question.
