Chapter 14: A Busy Month

The next month was busy. Between settling her beast friends into her ring after they signed soul contracts and sending out bracelets with instructions on how to use them to the tribe kings in the 10 Thousand Beast Forest as well as to those who had signed contracts with her, Leng Ling rarely had time to herself and even less time to spend with the men.

Her wolf brothers tolerated them at the beginning before finally beginning to form a friendship with them. They spent a lot of time sparring and comparing skills.

Leng Ai, kept her distance from them since they were all males. She spent her time in the bracelet playing with her friends who were coming with them.

The empty field inside Leng Ling's ring slowly developed. New buildings were built inside for the beasts to live in. Rare medicinal plants were found and planted inside.

At some point during the month Fu Bohai managed to convince Leng Ling to make them each a bracelet like the others. Long Junjie spent a lot of time staring at it in wonder when he wasn't sending her communications when he couldn't find her. It disturbed him slightly that there were times when she disappeared from the locator until she explained about the Phoenix Ring.

He bugged her so much through it, that there were times she regretted not putting a block function on her bracelet and seriously considered doing so. He had gone from someone almost silent to someone who almost never shut up. His two friends could only look on in amazement at the change in their leader. The almost taciturn young man had turned into someone almost child-like and clingy around Leng Ling in order to get her attention.

Leng Ling resisted the attention for a long time but by the time the month drew to a close, she had almost given up on trying to keep her distance. All she could do was hide in her ring any chance she got.

Finally Leng Ling was ready to set off. She placed her siblings and contracted friends inside her ring and left the Fire Wolf Tribe with the three men. She slowed her speed down to their level since her cultivation was much higher.

Truthfully, if she really wanted they could be out of the forest within the day on the newest equipment she had created but she wanted to leave it for an emergency. She was in no hurry to leave the forest, saying her farewells to ever beast they met along the way.

It took them half a month to travel on foot out of the forest. It was still faster than when the men entered since they had to worry about beast attacks coming in. Finally the reached the outskirts of the forest where sounds of fighting could be heard.
