Angel

Jaz POV

"Hey, Morgan! How are you?" I got a phone call from my ex when I was still 8 years old. She is older than me and since I was young, falling in love wasn't really that serious for me.

"Better. I'll send you tickets for our show. Bring your girlfriend or girlfriends, ahahaha... drop by our dressing room before we start ok? Bye."

As always, Morgan is still that cheerful and loud girl I used to date. I wonder why Jadis is not like her. Jadis is always on edge and scary.

I went out to look for clothes to wear tomorrow night since I know that Jadis will also be there, I have to look at my best.

I went to Verons. This boutique sells high end clothes. I was surprised to see Karlee there. Buying clothes that I don't think would match him.

"Hey, Benz! What are you doing here?" I asked, checking what he bought so I won't buy the same thing.

"I'm just picking up stuff. I'll go ahead." He swiftly left the shop.

"Oh, excuse me, can I also see the clothes that guy ordered?" I got curious. He seemed to be in a rush.

"Sir, the clothes he ordered were tailor made. We don't sell the clothes he got because it as a personal design order." the girl left after telling me about his order.

How rich is he to have tailor made clothes? I have no idea.

I'm pretty sure his design sucks. Ha!

Good thing I won't be wearing the same clothes like his.

I prepared early for the play. I left early and made sure that I drop by Morgan's dressing room first before the show.

"You're so early Jaz!" Morgan greeted me by messing up my hair.

"Phew Morgan! I just got my hair fixed. I don't want your sister to see me with ruffled hair"

"What? You're hitting on my sister? I don't think she'll like you though. I know her enough to say that you are not her type. Ha Ha Ha" that hurt but true. I know that already but giving up is not my thing.

"Thanks for the support. But I'm not the type to quit." She smirked at me and continued teasing me. It was brief but we already caught up on each others lives. Morgan was really outgoing and free-spirited.

I went back to my ride and saw Will in the parking lot.

"Yo! You're early. What's with the ruffled hair? New style?" Will giggled a bit. I don't usually let my hair look messy.

" Ha! It's Morgan's fault. By the way, nice bike. New?"

" Yeah... I'll go ahead now. I saw Jadis awhile ago. She looks different, amazingly different. " that somehow made me jealous. Petty , I know, but I wanted to be the first to see her tonight.

I fixed my hair. I rushed back in the opera house. I went through the garden entrance and saw this enchanting garden. I walked slowly and looked to the moon. As I was walking and staring at the moon, I saw this angel on the terrace. I immediately recognized the face. She looked like an angel.

She was also staring at the moon. Her face getting lit up by the light from it. She smiled softly and that pierced my heart again, in a good way. I want to savor this moment and just stare at her beautiful figure.

But it didn't last long because I noticed someone familiar coming behind her. I walked faster so I can catch up with them.

"Aaaah" I heard her scream and when I looked up, I saw Karlee holding her arm and they are looking at each others eyes.

Tsk. He's always ahead of me!

I went in and notice this beautiful cape from the store inside. I think this would match her clothes. So that Benz will not be able to offer anything to her in case she needed a cape.

I saw them enter the hall so I immediately paid the shawl and went in. I searched for them to make sure that I get to seat closer, beside her is much better.

And as Karlee was about to offer his tux to Jadis, I interrupted.

"You can have this instead. His tux doesn't suit your dress. "

We were eyeing each other. I'm still holding out the cape and Karlee still looking intently at me.

She grabbed the cape and wore it around to cover her shoulders and sat quietly. I sat beside her. I am at a staring contest with Karlee.

" Will you both stop doing that or I am going to leave." she said in a cold voice.

I immediately faced the opposite direction and focused on the show.

For 2 hours, all I can think about is how am I going to understand what is going on in this play. I can't focus at all.

After the show, I immediately stood up and followed her. I heard her mom call out to her name but she went straight to the washroom.

I waited outside with Karlee.

"What's your deal? Are you a stalker now?" He asked me while trying to look calm.

" You could say that. I wouldn't let you have all of her tonight. Not when she's looking so beautiful like that." I smirked. I can feel that he got annoyed when I smirked and took a step on the side.

I think he is trying not to lose his cool.

We waited outside the washroom for 15 long minutes.

When she went out, her face looks flustered. Like she is blushing.

"Why are you both still here?" she asked, looking puzzled.

"Waiting for you." We said in unison.

We looked at each other and then looked at her.

I let her walked in front of me so I can also catch her if in case she trip again. But to my surprise, there's these girls who grabbed my arm and asked for pictures. I saw Jadis looked back at me. She turned around and left with Karlee and her family.

I was so pissed that I glared at the girls around me.

"Hey Will, can I borrow your motorcycle? " Will agreed and gave me his keys. I texted Morgan about the place they're headed to and called the restaurant ahead of time to reserve the VIP room.

I drove like I'm in a race. No breaks and of course, off the route. I arrived there just 5 minutes early.

Enough time to fix myself and greet Jadis's mom.

"Oh, you're fast. What are you doing here?" Mrs. Chrysler asked.

"Oh, I'm actually booking our dinner tonight. I got you the VIP room. Will that be, ok?" I smiled at Jadis.

"Yes, It's more than ok. Thank You Jaz." Mrs. Chrysler went inside the VIP lounge .

The concierge led us to the VIP room. It was an expensive room. There's an open garden and also a long table good for 10 guests.

"This is very nice. Thank You Jaz."

" Excuse me for a while, I'll just go to the washroom." I need to spray something coz I smell like barbecue. All this smoke on the streets.

"I'll go too. Wait for me." Morgan and I went to the washroom together.

As I was walking, Morgan pulled me and asked,

"What are you doing? Are you trying to play with my sister? I'm warning you, if you mess with her, I will crush you!" more like she threatened me.

"Woah, chill! I am dead serious about your sister. I will never play her."

She went inside the washroom and we went back together to the VIP lounge.

When we returned, I saw Karlee with this elegant woman. They will join us during dinner. I cleared my throat when I saw Karlee staring at my angel.

They were talking about how Morgan did on the show, she was great, really. But my eyes and attention only lands on this angel beside me. But every time I glance at her, there's this devil beside her, that pissed me off.

"So happy you finally found your soul mate, Morgan." Mrs. Chrysler is so proud of Morgan.

"How about you Karlee? Are you currently dating?" Mrs. Chrysler asked and that made Karlee looked tensed.

I looked at Karlee. He was quiet. He smiled at her and pretended that his mouth is full.

"Actually, he was telling me about this girl and how much he liked her. But he won't tell me her name." the elegant lady said.

I giggled.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you already know and this is like a Meet-my-Family night. I just find it funny that he seems so protective of that girl in school but he won't tell you her name."

"Jaz, stop." Jadis whispered.

"So, you know her? Can you tell me who she is? He keeps on telling me that this girl is so amazing and beautiful. Very talented and a fine lady. But he won't bring her at our house."

"Mom, let's just talk about it at home, please." Karlee said.

"Ha! Really? You can't tell your mom that the girl you've been dating is right in front of her? Are you embarrassed that Jadis is your girlfriend?" I opened my mouth and dropped the bomb right there and then.

They are all looking at them. Mostly at Jadis. They all looked shocked.

"Is this true, Jadis? Are you really dating my son?" Oh, she's Karlee's mom.

There was no nod, no answer to her question. Jadis was silent.

"Yes, mom. I am dating Jadis. I'm sorry I didn't tell you about it because we are actually trying to plan how to tell you both. "Karlee said.

"Oh, that's great! I'm not actually mad about it, son. I just wished you told me sooner so I can welcome her properly, you know." Both mothers hugged each other like they won the lottery. Morgan was smiling wider.

"Not to burst your bubble but I think they are going to break up soon enough." I interrupted and didn't end there.

"Jaz, what are you doing?" Jadis grabbed my cuffs trying to stop me.

But I can't stop. I don't want to stop and lose to this mere guy. Jadis will be mine.

"Why?" Mrs. Benz asked , a little confused.

"Because of me. I will have to steal her away from your son, ma'am. I'm sorry" I bowed in front of Karlee's mom.

"What? It's... what's happening here?" Mrs. Benz was as confused as Morgan.

"Ford, you better stop this and leave already. You are ruining our night" Karlee is back with his cold tone.

"Aww, Benz, did you really think that I would let you have her without a fight? I will do everything to make her mine."

We kept on arguing. Morgan and Mrs. Benz are trying to hold us down.

Suddenly, Jadis stood up and looked at me. She walked closer and then...

She vomited on my shoes and fainted.

I caught her and tried to wake her up. Morgan and Mrs. Chrysler walked closer to us. Jadis is looking pale.

Good thing the restaurant immediately contacted an ambulance and took Jadis to the hospital.

I was so frightened seeing her unconscious like that. Mrs. Chrysler and Mrs. Benz got in the ambulance and so Morgan, Karlee and I were the only ones left in the restaurant. Karlee paid for the food as I stood frozen and worried about Jadis.

"Jaz!" I turned around and received a punch from Morgan. She kept punching and I was knocked down.

"You moron! You don't really know when to shut up, huh" Morgan grab me by the collar and look intently at me.

" I don't know what's the issue here, but if you will keep making problems for my sister, I want you to stop. Don't make me hate you" Morgan warned me and pulled Karlee to his car and drove off.

I wasn't able to visit her in the hospital. Morgan already left for the show since they need to transfer to another opera house.

I was just staying at home for a week. Not attending the band practice and my classes made me think straight for a bit. I also need to make this eye bruise heal first because I don't want to explain how I got this.

All I can think about is Jadis.
