Hearing his foster son's request, Adam smiled. "You shall not worry about it. This throne will be yours," he patted his shoulder.
Ezekiel sighed. The King was putting too much trust on him that he felt like he did not deserve it. Him being too soft would be the death of him someday. For sure, Clan Leader Owen's allies would take advantage of his kindness.
The Crown Prince cared greatly for his father's twin brother who took care of him like his own son. Compared to his real father who's a rebel, he preferred King Adam who promotes peace.
Chuckling, Ezekiel uttered, "I was only kidding… You should never hand over the throne that easily, father."
He shook his head. "It doesn't matter. I intend to pass the throne to you."
"Yes, I am aware, but shouldn't you do it only when you're old?" he sighed, "Anyway, father. I shall excuse myself. I have not yet gotten a good sleep."
"Ah, yes. Rest well," the King said, and he watched Ezekiel leave the throne room.
