The Hidden Danger

When it was only five minutes to midnight, the four of them got out of the car and walked towards the villa.

They followed the stone path through the courtyard, gradually reaching the front door of the villa.

The door was covered in dust and cracks, easily broken open.

They walked through a long corridor and into a large living room.

The living room spanned two floors, with stairs leading to the second floor on both the left and right sides.

Although it was old, the villa was clearly luxurious, it was strange that it was abandoned now.

There were several sofas in the living room, a large red carpet on the floor, two or three large chandeliers on the ceiling, and clothes racks on either side of the room.

Pictures hung on the walls, and potted plants were placed in the corners.

The reason for believing they were potted plants was simple… if they were real plants, they would have withered and died long ago since no one took care of them.

  Paintings… sofas… coffee tables… chandeliers… stairs… carpets… walls… potted plants…

Which one could be the ghost's transformation?

"Anyway..." Yuan said, "Let's turn on the lights first."

Just then, Ziye suddenly flipped the switch of the chandelier, and the lights… turned on!

"They even left us electricity, the apartment is really thoughtful," Ziye looked at the chandeliers, quietly muttering, "Well… the distance between the first and second chandeliers on the left is about three meters, the second and third chandeliers are about…"

"Why are you remembering this?" Yuan asked, confused.

"If the chandeliers are the ghost, then if the distances change next time, it means they may have moved." Ziye said while taking out her phone to take pictures of the chandeliers.

Then she went on to take pictures of the paintings and potted plants.

Seeing what Ziye was doing, Oda Saki and Wen immediately followed suit.

Ziye's phone had a very high resolution, so the pictures were very clear.

But she didn't think this alone would be enough to easily find the ghost.

Next, they started heading up the stairs to the second floor.

It seemed like the place was very old, every step creaked, and the handrail was wobbly.

The closer they got to the ceiling, the more carefully Ziye observed.

The carpet had no patterns, making it difficult to find reference points.

So Ziye took out a utility knife from her backpack and cut a slit in the carpet every time she reached a piece of furniture near the carpet.

If the carpet didn't have a cut in front of a piece of furniture later, it would mean the carpet had moved.

"I'm warning you, don't move the carpet," Ziye specifically stated while cutting the slits, "Otherwise, it might lead me to make a mistake."

Ziye was sure that the three of them wouldn't do that, they were also eager to find the ghost's transformation.

When they reached the second floor, Yuan suddenly looked at a… sculpture as if he had discovered a new world!

It was a plaster sculpture of a naked foreign woman.

"Could it be…" Yuan slowly approached the sculpture, "Is this the ghost?"

"It shouldn't be that simple." Oda Saki shook her head, "Directly transforming into a sculpture? That's a bit too obvious."

"Not necessarily." Ziye walked to the plaster sculpture and said, "The apartment might be taking advantage of our mindset."

Later… they found plaster sculptures in many of the rooms on the second floor, most of them sculptures of people.

So, Ziye made a suggestion, "Wen, Yuan, help me move these plaster sculptures to the living room. Lay them down horizontally, place something heavy on top, and then take pictures."

The two of them quickly helped to move the sculptures.

In the end, the living room was filled with plaster sculptures, creating a rather eerie sight.

"Take pictures of every part of each sculpture," Ziye said as she took pictures, "If there are any slight changes in the expressions or poses, it means the sculpture might have moved."

After completing the task, they started assigning rooms.

Yuan and Wen would share a room, and Ziye and Oda Saki would share another.

They chose rooms next to each other, and the two in each room would take turns guarding at night.

Closing the door, Ziye breathed a sigh of relief.

"Are you going to keep looking? Ziye?" Oda Saki asked, "Or should we get some sleep first?"

"I've already taken pictures of every part of the villa. I'll check them all tomorrow morning, there's no rush now."

Ziye pulled up a chair and sat down, "You should get some rest. It's summer now, it's fine that there are no blankets in the room. I'll watch over you."

"You… aren't worried that the chair you're sitting on is the ghost?" Oda Saki blurted out.

Ziye nodded and said, "You have a point. But… aren't you worried that the bed is the ghost? If we're all afraid and worried, how are we going to last five days? I can't just stand guard all night, I'd definitely get tired and fall asleep. It's okay, this is my first time executing a blood word instruction, right? I shouldn't be that unlucky."

  The night falls.

Oda Saki had already fallen asleep on the bed, while Ziye showed no signs of sleepiness.

The wind occasionally hit the windows, Ziye clenched her fists, her eyes constantly fixed on the door.

  "Where is 'it' hiding?"

Just then, a loud bang suddenly came from downstairs.

Then, the loud bangs kept coming, and Oda Saki was startled awake.

Upon hearing the first bang, Ziye quickly rushed out of the room, reached the stairwell, ran downstairs, and flipped the switch of the chandelier.

All the plaster sculptures were shattered on the ground.

"This… this…" Wen looked at the broken plaster sculptures on the ground, "Could it be…"

The sculptures were all lying horizontally and secured, they shouldn't have fallen and broken.

In other words… it must have been caused by an external force!

And Ziye felt that those evil eyes were constantly emitting an overwhelming malice towards her!

"Where are you?" Ziye constantly looked around, not missing a single detail, taking out her phone to compare the room changes with the photos.

She knew that she had to find the owner of those evil eyes as soon as possible.

Otherwise… she would likely become the first victim!
