Switching Mates
Suddenly, there was a disturbing knock on her bedroom door. It was late and she wasn’t in the mood to entertain any visitors. After taking in a deep breath and letting it out slowly, she rolled her eyes and called out to whoever was on the other side of her bedroom door.
“It’s late. Who is it?” she called out without hiding her sour temper.
“It’s me…” the familiar voice of her loyal servant replied.
“Sophie. What do you want?” Regina asked without urging the woman to open the door.
“There’s a visitor here to see you…” she replied in a shaky and hesitant voice.
“Who is it?” she asked with some hope that it may be a visit from Leonard.
“Prince Florian is here to see you,” Sophie replied.
“Send him back. Tell him that I’ve already gone to bed,” she called out loudly as her hands balled into fists at her side.
“Wait!” Sophie cried out.
Suddenly, the door to her room was pushed open and she stared up in shock at Florian’s tall frame as he stood in her doorway.
