“I’m not following,” I said.
“Of course, you aren’t,” she said with a sigh. “Lycan from separate packs don’t normally associate themselves together without a political reason.”
“Why not?”
“Because, that’s not how it works in our world, Ki.”
“That’s silly,” I said, walking over to my closet. “Let’s get ready.”
“I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to go with,” she said hesitantly. “I don’t know these people.”
“Exactly, I want you to get to know them.”
She sighed. “This could end really badly.”
“Oh, shush,” I said, pulling out a bikini for both her and myself. “They’re my friends, I want you to meet them.”
I passed her a vibrant turquoise bikini with a cute tropical print. She put it on and twirled in front of the mirror, admiring the fit.
I browsed through my choices and finally settled on a navy blue one with a ruffled top and a high-waisted bottom. I quickly pulled it on and braided my hair. I looked in the mirror and I felt confident that I looked good.
