Chapter 33: More Proof

Felix fell into step beside her as they made their way back to the Shifter Tower. He was quiet, letting her sort through her chaotic thoughts.

The books in Nikolas’s room didn’t make sense to her. Why was he researching their bond? What purpose did he have for the information? There was a nagging thought that kept popping up in her head.

“How is a mating bond broken?” Sage asked him.

Felix stopped dead in his tracks and stared at her. “I thought I made it clear I’d rip your throat out if you hurt Caspian,” he said coldly.

“Shut up, Felix,” she shoved him. “Not asking for me!”

“Right,” he said, relaxing a bit. “Well, after a mating bond has been accepted–usually through bedroom tasks–” he smirked then his face fell. “The bond can only be broken when one of the mates is dead. Even then, it isn’t like it’s something that would ever truly be gone. If you were to die, Caspian would always feel you in some capacity. Most shifters can’t handle the heartbreak.”
