CHAPTER FOUR

We're at the House on the Hills, today is my birthday and somehow, I snap into a different world where I can't explain what goes on in there. This is what happened..this is how I see myself, in a strange world.

I stare down at her as she still clings to me, now staring at my eyes with a shocked expression. She is too disoriented to even notice her still hard grip on my arms.

I didn't see her coming as I stood up to leave, choosing not to get my order anymore and before I noticed her she had already bumped right into me.

She finally seems to realize her hold on me and I see panic flash through her eyes as she immediately let's go of me and inspects the coffee damage she just did to my clothes.

My ones sparkling clean suit now has a huge stain in the middle but that bothers me just for a while as I take in the lady in front of me. She is the very same lady that seemed to knock my breath out of my lungs when she crashed into me at the house party I attended.

"Why were you not on your seat?" She yells suddenly at me and I can't help the shocked expression that comes to my face.

Did she seriously just ask me that.

"Excuse me?" I ask her, because she isn't the one that's supposed to be yelling, that's my part, she is supposed to be apologizing for her clumsiness right now.

"You heard me. I wouldn't have spilled this on you if you had just stayed in your seat like others." She said narrowing me down which was sort of amusing considering out height difference.

This is totally not what I expected and I feel a mechanical smile come to my face. So she is not the shy lady I thought she was, she's got spunk, interesting.

" Miss I'm sure it's within my rights to decide when I want to leave a café or is it not?" I ask her with an amused grin which seems to make her more annoyed which amuses me.

She's a strange one. Normally I wouldn't take this nonsense and I would definitely not stand here and argue with a waiter who doesn't seem to know her restrictions, but she's not just any waiter, she's a beautiful, curvy, hazel eyed waiter who is refreshingly different from anyone I've ever met, her lack of proper reasoning is just one of her appeals.

" So you just came in just to walk out without getting anything." She states rather than asks.

I break into a grin at her feisty behavior, I still don't understand her method of reasoning, I don't get how she sees it fit to question a customer she spilled coffee on.

As much as I should feel annoyed by this, I can't help but feel more attracted to her, my two meetings with her has been the most interesting things that has happened to me for the two weeks I've been in this town.

"Just apologize to the customer, Melody." I hear a man say to her annoyed, seeing that she was about to lash out on me again.

She turns back and looks at the man who is dressed in the same clothes as she is, and realization dawns on her as she turns back to me with an apologetic smile.

" I'm sorry, I didn't see where I was going." She says biting her lips and not meeting my eyes which just tips my attraction to her upwards even more.

" Well, that would be the last customer you serve, go get your things." I hear the man say before I get to reply her.

" What?" She asks him surprised.

" You heard me clearly, you're fired." The man said firmly.

" That won't be necessary, she can keep her job." I say authoritatively to the man, silencing Melody as I know she will most likely say something without reasoning that would be detrimental to herself.

I know that his decision to fire her is because of my high status, he wouldn't want bad press about his employee spilling coffee on one of America's renowned billionaire bachelor. A characteristic I possess that I'm sure she is oblivious to.

I see as shock mars her face at my order and I walk out of the coffee shop not waiting for a response from either of them, as I know that he wouldn't dare disobey me. I get into the limousine parked outside and waiting for me.

Settling into the plush seat of the car, I think of how different she is from the rest of the ladies in this town, she didn't cower in fear at what she did like any other lady would, rather she took me head on, though not very appropriate at the moment but extremely different and interesting.

I've been in this town for two weeks, only moving to this village two days ago, considering my dilemma, to attend a function, where I met her. I came here to find someone suitable to fit into the role that would help me salvage my social crisis which seems to be gradually disrupting my business and if not curbed could blow out of proportion.

I believed Greenburg would offer that so for two weeks, I've searched, done my research and gone to places trying to find possible candidates but I've come up with nothing as all the ladies I have met have given me similar reactions. It's like the whole town is filled with women who have no dreams or vision beyond this little town, it's like all of them are so constrained by the idea of a basic life that they are all blind to see that there's more to life than this town.

In the past two weeks, all I got from these women are reasons why they can't leave their home town and how they don't want to be put in the media spotlight, claiming that they all want a simple life's or " peaceful existence" as some called it. Even the financial stability offered didn't move a single hair on their body, they strongly believe the notion that as women, they shouldn't have to work for that kind of stability but rather just have it on a platter.

I could have gone to a more modernized city but with more technological exposure, comes more social exposure and social misdemeanors and that's exactly what I am trying to avoid and I was just about to call it quits for this town and travel back out today.

But Melody, since the day I met her, I have considered the option that she might just fit the role I want from a lady adequately. I had done my research about her and found out she comes from a good background and the only social media uploads she makes are that of poems which I presume she wrote. That is a green light from where I stand right now.

She doesn't seem like she fits into this town, even a blind man could tell that and from the distaste on the faces of other customers at her outburst, I'm sure they felt the same way.

She doesn't look like the type that wants to have everything thrown at her feet, or the typical lady doll who wants to be treated like a princess, she looks like someone who would get her hands dirty to get what she wants and that's exactly the characteristic I've been looking for.

'I might have just found my bride.' I say to myself as I smile.
