Chapter 22

　　RILEY:

　　Xavier was waiting outside the room when I step out.

　　"Let me walk you to your room," he offers and I agree with a nod. I could use the company now that I was still in the middle of a trauma from what happened in the woods.

　　"Do you hate me for what I did?" I ask a little into the walk.

　　"Hate you? Not at all. You were fed up already. And after what Carmella did to you, it's only understandable that you took a bold step just to save yourself."

　　"But I caused trouble for you and Damien. Look what happened to Damien? I got him hurt by my actions."

　　He counters, "Damien got hurt by his rage. You don't need to worry about him. I'm sure he has learned his lesson after today's experience."

　　I was surprised to hear him chastise the man who saved me. Which is why I look at him strangely and then ask, "Shouldn't you be worried that he's not okay?"
