“As you can see, our president is here, to foresee the team building, however, dude to sudden circumstances, he wants us to leave this place,”

I can’t look at them properly, even though, they didn’t know what happen by the lake, my conscience is eating me, with the fact that it was because of my stupidity that leads to the interruption of this team building that happens once a year.

“When are we receiving the prize?” Ally excitedly asked.

Jena looked at Zach, who was standing in front of me, Zach nodded, And Jena smiled, “We will be giving the prized today before we go home,”

Rein opened the box and read inside, “Alright, group four will receive,” I’m not even into the prize, but why am I nervous? I chuckled, I saw Zach take a glance at me, “Seven-seater for a three days trip!”

I heard and saw how disappointed the other group was, upon hearing the prize, it was indeed worth the search, my teammates were ecstatic, hearing that, I tilt my head and realized something.

“But’ we are eight? Whos’ not coming?” Caleb speak up what’s in my mind.

“Uh, wait, there is—a ring?” Rein’s hesitant voice made me chuckle, even though he, wasn’t sure about what he read, jeez, these people, “Uhm, who wants this ring in exchange for your uh, seat?” I saw how they avoided everyone’s glance, acting like they didn’t Rein.

“I’ll take the ring,” I finally said, Ally’s eyes were almost teary, I chuckled, “I’m not a fan of travelling, you can give them my spot,”

“Okay, then, here is your prize, Vera,” Jena then gave me the ring, I tried not to jump, oh my fucking pierce. I just got a rare piece of jade ring, “Thank you for being considerate,”

I just smiled, not bothered by anything, and just looked at the ring. We all went to our tents and prepared ourselves to go home. We helped to dissemble the tents and made sure we didn’t litter. The bus took us one by one—with Zach’s command.

I was the last one to drop off, since, most of their house was just around the corner, “Take care, Vera,” said Jeff, as I took off the bus, I nodded and smiled. When he drove off, that’s when I notice a black Ducati. My brow furrowed, when it stops in front of me, the car window rolled down, exposing Zach.

“Zach? I mean, Mr. President, what are you doing here?” I was taken aback when he got off from his car and went in front of me.

“What happen to the lake?” he wasn’t sounded curious, he was more looking for confirmation, “Why did you end up, almost drowning?”

I shrug, “I don’t know, I just felt a force from my head, and I can’t get off the water when I wake up—” I looked at him, hesitating, whether to tell him or now, “I just, I saw you, and that’s all,”

“You sure you can’t remember what happen back there?” I nodded, he looked at me for half a minute, before he convincingly nodded, “Alright, get inside, it’s late,”

I looked at him, why is he acting like we’re close or what? I didn’t talk and just nodded, and turned my back to him. I fish my keys and fill out my keyholes, I took a last glance at Zach, who’s still standing behind me, “Aren’t you going home?”

“Just get inside,” his commanding voice made me sigh, and went inside, I didn’t look back again, and locked my door. After a minute or two, I heard a car engine driving.

I put down my things and sat on my bed, I grabbed the velvet box inside the bag, “This is freaking amazing, and no one wants it? I really exchange my seat for a three days travel, for this? Hell yes, and I would do it again,” I chuckled as I realized that I’m looking like an idiot now.

I shook my head and decided to wear it, I pull off my towel and went to the bathroom, I took off my jumpsuit, and my shirt along with my bra, I was left with my undies. I put fluoride toothpaste to my brush and starts to brush my teeth while looking in the mirror.

Is that really a dream?

Did I just really drown in that lake? Without even really getting fully on the water? I didn’t notice anyone who could possibly drown me in the lake, and what was Zach doing there? What is he talking about? Bewitched? Is he freaking kidding me?”

After brushing my teeth, I bun my hair and soak myself in the tub. The warmth of the water, makes me feel sleepy, I closed my eyes, but as soon as I did, memories, start to flood my mind, like it was shut for a moment, and now it’s coming in one, I immediately opened my eyes, and gasp some air, I look at my wrist.

My eyes widen upon seeing, little by little a tattoo-like mark appearing on my wrist! I stood up and went to my vanity, I grab cotton and try to remove it, but it was no use, it was still there, intact, like glue.

I was still standing, thinking of what to do, but my view became blurry, and in just a moment, I feel a burning sensation in my both eyes.

“Ahh!” my legs weakened, and I can’t feel it already, I heard a loud thud, and my body ache for a while, but the pain in my eyes takes over, “Fuck, fuck!”

I can’t describe the pain, I wanted to pull off my eyeballs and put it in cold water. Ah! Fuck! Damn, it’s fucking painful!

Sudden warm arms encircle my body and lift me in the air, “Hey, hey, hush love,” but I did not have the chance to identify that person, for I am in pain right now.

I keep on mumbling curses until I notice the pain starts to subdue, a tingling sensation starts to embrace my body, my eyes start to see the surroundings again, and there, I had identify the warm body I feel earlier.

Both adoration and fascination were present in his eyes while looking straight into my eyes.
