"Huh?" Meiros turned to Chrysos. "Master, what do you mean Espentoni lost? He clearly has the advantage here and Triyugis is on the brink of defeat." He looked back to the arena and saw the same scene of Triyugis struggling to get up.
Chrysos clicked his tongue three times. "Meiros, have you forgotten what makes me dangerous as an alchemist?"
"Erm, you have the ability to make potions right? And with the abilities given to you by the potions, you can match against stronger opponents despite them originally being stronger than you." Meiros replied after a bit of thinking.
"Exactly. That's why when it comes to an alchemist, a herbalist, a potionmaker and a chef, their strength isn't determined by their base strength whether it's mental strength, Divinium strength, physical strength, endurance or whatever. Instead, it's determined by the quality of their potions or consumables." Chrysos then lifted his mask to drink a hypertraining potion.
After hearing what his master had to say, Meiros turned to watch the arena once again. And after watching it carefully, he could see Triyugis take out a sickle shaped bone from his pocket.
Crack!
When Espentoni heard the crisp snapping sound, he didn't think much of it. But when he saw that Triyugis was drinking the dark crimson liquid from the broken bone, his eyes became serious.
He felt the condensed Divinium energy from the strange juices that Triyugis was drinking and that made him wary.
Espentoni didn't delay any further and pounced on Triyugis like a real feral hound.
Triyugis didn't stop with the bone and took out a piece of cooked steak that has silver and aquamarine colorations. He ate the steak and the moment he did, Triyugis exuded a powerful aura that matched Espentoni's.
Boom!
Triyugis blocked Espentoni's strike and managed to send him a few meters back using a powerful slash from his greatsword.
The spectators were shocked.
Cewelt exclaimed through the screen and said, "Oh? Is this what I think it is? Triyugis has used the Bone-flesh synchrony! This is going to be an even match again starting from here!"
Triyugis stood up from his spot and raised his greatsword once again. This time, he has regained his vigor and strength.
He had a calm look on his face as he looked at Espentoni. Triyugis then bent his legs and shot forward like a rocket!
Espentoni knew that the situation was bad. He summoned ten Provectis ranked wolves behind him to try and defeat Triyugis. His Divinium expenditure was quite high, especially the fact that he has to maintain his skullbeast form.
Espentoni attacked once again.
The two of them crashed against each other, creating a large and powerful shockwave that spread out from the arena.
Bwoam!
The barrier surrounding the arena was hit by the shockwave that caused it to ripple. Even though the fight between the two was enough to make the barrier ripple, the crowd wasn't scared that the barrier would explode at all.
Instead, they all cheered wildly.
"Whoa ho ho! That's a fierce battle coming from our two heroes! Phew, the heat of the battle is really getting on my skin!" Cewelt's voice was heard by all of the spectators. Just him speaking elevated the tension by at least threefold in the hearts of the spectators.
Ten hounds surrounded all of the escape routes for Triyugis. But then again, he wasn't planning to escape in the first place.
Triyugis revealed a bloodthirsty grin as he pulled a strange piece of flesh from his belt. He threw it on the ground and when he did, he was already about to be sliced by the claws of the hounds and not only that, Espentoni's fist was about to reach him.
But he didn't care. He used a lightning type spell on his sword as he brought it down with all of his might.
Time was moving very slowly for Triyugis.
When the lightning spell shrouded his sword as he stabbed the piece of flesh on the ground, something extraordinary happened.
Coming in contact with the lightning spell, the piece of flesh grew exponentially in under a second and pikes made of flesh coated with the same tough material that makes up our nails, except it's even more durable.
The hounds were all stabbed by the pikes and they struggled desperately. They tried their best to break free, but after being stabbed by so many pikes, they started to lose their physical form.
The hounds slowly dissipated, leaving Espentoni who had been stabbed by three pikes in his right shoulder, his left lower rib cage, and his right shin.
The crowd gasped.
Cewelt left his jaw hanging to express his shock. "My goodness! Triyugis managed to break free of Espentoni's hounds and turned the advantage back to his favor! This is too amazing!"
Unwillingness filled Espentoni. He roared wildly and pumped out more Divinium to destroy the pikes.
Tssszzzzzz-
The ethereal light blue Divinium that covered Espentoni suddenly turned hot red. He decided to go all out.
"Uh oh, it seems that Espentoni is going all out! How will Triyugis respond to this?" Subconsciously, almost everyone focused on Triyugis after Cewelt spoke.
Feeling the extreme power emanating from Espentoni, Triyugis remained calm.
He took a piece of red tinged roasted meat and ate it. Immediately, his strength soared once more.
Espentoni didn't dawdle and struck first.
Bam!
Triyugis blocked the punch with his greatsword, sending him three steps backwards.
Espentoni stomped on the ground and followed up with another punch.
Bam!
Triyugis nodded and understood the range of Espentoni's strength. After getting used to it, he dodged Espentoni's last strike before it struck him.
He dashed forward and sent three consecutive slashes that Espentoni spent a bit of effort to block.
Triyugis didn't stop as he kept slashing and hacking his sword at Espentoni like a relentless storm.
However in the middle of his attacks, Espentoni did something crazy. When Triyugis slashed his sword again, instead of blocking or dodging, Espentoni leapt forward and allowed the sword to pierce through his body!
What!?
Even Cewelt did not see that coming. "And what is this?! Espentoni got stabbed by Triyugis? Is this it? Is he going to be defeated here by the Decimator of Flesh?"
The crowd went silent. Those who bet for Espentoni felt extremely anxious, but those who bet for Triyugis felt very happy.
But Triyugis didn't feel the same. His sword was lodged deep into Espentoni, but it would budge no matter how much he tugged on it.
Espentoni smiled savagely and two ghostly arms appeared on his back, grabbing Triyugis in place. He then sent a barrage of punches that forced Triyugis to block.
Triyugis gritted his teeth as he was put into a passive situation again.
Espentoni laughed mockingly. His punches increased in power as his Divinium reserves became lower and lower. Triyugis felt that his body was about to break under the barrage of violent punches.
He roared into the sky and used his Divinium to cast a spell.
A gigantic bolt of lightning struck the dome, creating an extremely bright light that forced the spectators to close their eyes.
THWOOOMM!
The vibration of the explosion resonated with the air that surrounded the arena. The spectators felt their chests being pounded by an invisible force as the sonic booms flowed throughout the area.
When the bright light dimmed, the eyes of the spectators began searching for the two Heroes.
And as the light disappeared fully, they saw Espentoni standing with his eyes closed. His body was stabbed by hundreds of pikes next to Triyugis who stood there, holding his greatsword.
Triyugis panted heavily. He exhausted all of his Divinium to activate all of the pikes in his clothes to stab Espentoni. Of course, he didn't kill him. If one observed carefully, even though the number of the pikes piercing through Espentoni's body looked absolutely terrifying, they all avoided vital areas that would kill him.
The crowd was silent for three seconds before breaking out in loud cheers.
Cewelt laughed and flamboyantly posed before saying, "Congratulations! The Decimator of Flesh Triyugis, is the winner!"
"Woohoo!"
"He won! That was too intense!"
"Great job Triyugis! I knew you had it in you!"
"Hahaha! The Decimator of Flesh never fails to deliver a spectacular fight!"
"Nooo! My money!!"
"I'm so glad I placed my bets on him!"
There were a lot of reactions to him winning. Some were excited, some were sad, some were angry, some were too shocked to even react, some were impressed, but one person calmly shrugged as if he expected Triyugis to win.
"So Meiros, what did I say?" Chrysos laughed as he looked at the gold coins flying towards him.
"I- I was really shocked that you were right.." Meiros was stunned as he looked at the giant illusion screen.
A stream of gold coins flew from the iron box above the illusion screen towards Chrysos.
He grabbed all of it and when he examined them, they all had five red gems inlaid upon them. The small, spherical red gems are called Cabrital Crystals. A special crystal produced and monopolized by the rulers of the continent.
They have special properties that make it the perfect crystal to use on currency.
All coins in Supremia Aliqierta or even the other nineteen continents all use coins with these crystals inlaid. A bronze coin with one Cabrital Crystal is worth one bronze coin.
Shocking news, I know.
But if it has two crystals, it counts as five bronze coins. Three crystals count as ten, four crystals are equivalent to twenty five, and five are equal to fifty bronze coins.
That goes the same for silver and gold coins.
Chrysos just received 128 5th Cabrital gold coins. Which totals to a worth of 6,400 gold coins just by him betting 128 1st Cabrital gold coins.
He examined the coins and found them very beautiful. "The people who control the currency of the human continents really outdid themselves." Chrysos flipped a coin and saw the exquisite markings and designs. The gold coins have three eye designs in a triangle around the five circular crystals in the middle. The eyes were those of a dragon which made Chrysos interested in how they managed to mass produce these coins despite technology being underdeveloped here in the Divine Lands.
Chrysos stood up and said, "Alright, that was fun. Let's go."
Meiros nodded and got up from his seat.
..
When they left the Vespeta Dome, Meiros couldn't help but look back and admire the beautiful structure of the dome.
Chrysos noticed this, so he asked, "Did you enjoy the fight?"
"Mhm, of course I did." Meiros clenched his fists and vigorously threw out a few jabs.
Seeing Meiros' enthusiasm, Chrysos made a guess, "From what I can see, you seem to be a huge fan of the dome."
Meiros scratched his head. "I wasn't trying to hide it anyways.. But, yeah. I really adore the heroes in the Vespeta Dome. They were my only entertainment when I used to live in the streets."
"But after entering the dome just now, how do you feel?" Chrysos asked as he gestured towards the giant building behind them.
"It's amazing. It feels like a dream even though I know that it's real." After saying this, Meiros looked at Chrysos with gratitude. "And I wouldn't have been able to be there if it weren't for you."
"Just doing my job as your master. Not only that, you did extremely well against the assassins during our quest. Take it as your reward." Chrysos patted his back as he walked. "Now come on, let's go to Calmoal street."
"Calmoal street? For what?" Meiros did a light jog to catch up to Chrysos.
"I heard that there's a great craftsman in the area. It might be a good idea to visit and let him check my design of the sniper rifle." Chrysos took out the drawings and checked if he missed any components. "After all, it's going to be very hard to make this ourselves."
Meiros touched his chin and said, "But master, you haven't told me how it works in the first place."
Chrysos revealed a smile. "Since you really want to know, it's a weapon that can shoot out very powerful metal bolts at incredible speeds that our eyes can't even see go by."
Interested, Meiros asked, "Master, how did you think of this?"
"Haha, long story… Remember when I told you that I came from a place called earth?" Said Chrysos as they walked.
"Of course master, so is this weapon popular back in your place?" Meiros questioned the origins of the weapon first.
"Yep, and because of my status on earth, my father forced me to study different fighting… erm.. say, what's that word again?" Chrysos rubbed his chin and thought for a while.
Seeing his master's confusion, Meiros replied, "Master, do you mean martial arts?"
With a snap of his fingers, Chrysos said, "Yes, yes. Martial arts. My father gathered many experts and professionals to teach me stuff like that. It was to ensure that I could defend myself." Remembering those times, Chrysos' eyes had a bit of melancholy as he recalled those memories.
"So taking inspiration from earth, I decided to bring back an old classic." Chrysos waved the piece of paper in front of him.
..
The two of them chatted for a while until they reached Calmoal Street.
The streets were busting with vitality as usual. The towering buildings, alchemy houses, forges, hospitals, businesses both big and small, and many more filled the street.
Chrysos looked around and saw a building with a weird structure. The building was large and it had giant rusty brown gears that showed the usual depiction of a craftsman's workshop.
Chrysos and Meiros entered the building and as Chrysos opened the door, the bells chimed as it hit the door.
When they got inside, they saw a man working on a strange metal machine. He used his Divinium to fix and tweak some parts here and there. And by how serious he looked working on it, Chrysos already liked his mindset.
Chrysos got close to the machine that resembled an engine and said, "Excuse me, are you Craftsman Loreint?"
Craftsman Loreint turned his head and said, "Yes that's me, what do you want?"
He then returned to his work after he spoke.
"I want to ask you for a custom built machine." Chrysos spoke with a polite tone.
Hearing this, Loreint stood up and said, "Well do you have something that you can show me so that I know what I'm working with?"
"Absolutely." Chrysos gave him the drawing of the rifle.
Loreint straightened himself up and took the piece of paper. He put on his rectangular glasses and looked into the drawing carefully.
Loreint wore a leather apron that had a lot of black spills and some scratches. He wore black boots and gray pants. His shirt is made of a light gray colored waterproof silk that he wears whenever he works with machines. His hair and beard is white, yet his build is still muscular as if he was still in his 30's despite being 55.
It took a while until Loreint finished looking through the diagram. He passed it back to Chrysos.
"So? Is it possible to make?" Chrysos asked Loreint straightforwardly.
"Tch, possible? What you're trying to get me to create isn't possible. If this is a prank, go get someone else." Loreint had a displeased tone as he continued to work on the machine.
"Eh?" Chrysos wasn't expecting his request to be rejected that quickly.
