The Aeternus Universe

The year of humanity is 2415, and DDVR and VRMMORPG's are commonplace now. It's extremely hard for a new game to come out and be successful. The greats of these genres have ruled for a few centuries now. A new game is releasing soon, and it has promise to be one of those. The Aeternus Universe. A Virtual Reality game has what you would expect from a game in this genre. However, some things make it special. One of those being the exploration and adventure through galaxies and The Aeternus Universe. Other games in this genre take it to fantasy and medieval times. This is set in a universe where there are super advanced technologies, spaceships, and Mecha suits—lost Alien tech ready to be found and claimed. Some of these all come together. The story starts 2 days before the release of the game, and with our protagonist—a 20-year-old male by the name of Scott Autumn. He is one of the few jumping from the current major game to this one. Seeing its potential for greatness and chance to be one of the biggest games on the market.

~~~(POV: Durado)~~~
So far, everything has gone as Scott's predicted, and it makes me question how smart he is. I'm not blind. I can notice things about Scott that make him stand out intellectually. I'll have to pay more attention to him after I start mentoring him.
I relax against the wall as I look down towards the landing pad. It's definitely Ziller ship, and I've been waiting for him to show up for a little bit now. He's either still in the mines or is on his way here. Scott needs to be careful. If Ziller hasn't come out from the mines, then he might run into him.
I'm currently waiting in a place of high ground and out of sight, and it is more relaxing than it should be. However, the thick smoke and smog make it less than it could be. I keep my eyes on their single staircase that leads to the private landing pad, hoping that Ziller comes up any second now.
Patience is important in my line of work, and the closer the detonation time gets. The sooner he'll be here. I take my right blaster out of its holster, and I twirl it around. I fiddle with the front tip of my hat as I keep my eyes trained on the landing pad.
In the span of a few seconds, an alien perfectly matching the description of Ziller Maxx finishes walking up the stairs and walking towards his ship. I take this opportunity to jump from my hiding spot and leap on top of some crates till I reach the landing pad.
I point my blaster at Ziller as I land on the actual landing pad. "You would be wise not to move, Ziller." He freezes as my low voice reaches him. He slowly raises his hands, and I walk forward. He's being smart and not trying to kill me. Knowing that I could end his life in the blink of an eye.
I smirk as I see the angry expression on his face. The reward is the same dead or alive. I want to ask him something before I kill him. "You haven't pulled the trigger yet. What the fuck do you want?" I don't like being spoken to that way, but I'm going to have to tolerate it a little bit longer.
I walk a bit closer, and I can see his eyes now. One of the last of his kind, I feel nothing in regards to killing him. The end of his species is long overdue. The Eldioans caused so many deaths. Maybe with Ziller's death, they'll finally be cleansed from the galaxy.
My question is about something very private, and I'm sure he was involved with it. "In the Yelare System, on the planet of Heroor, you were part of a group of space pirates. I want to know where you sent the slaves." I don't like thinking about the desolated planet, an innocent farming world that was extinguished in Ziller's early days with his old crew.
That planet is where I was keeping my only daughter. The small farming colony she was staying in was ransacked, and the women made slaves, unwillingly, of course.
I've been searching for her and Ziller's old crew for a very long time. I've been tracking down Ziller's crew for many years now, and every time I find a body. Ziller is the only one left.
He's the only one who can tell me who took my daughter 15 years ago. She was only four at the time. "Now, why would I tell you anything about that? From what I can see, this information is more important than if I live or die, and it's the only reason I'm alive now. My silence is the only thing keeping me alive." I hate when my targets do this, using any advantage to stay alive.
I can't say anyone wouldn't do the same, but this makes things more difficult. "I'll give you two options, Ziller." He squints his eyes as he says that. "You can either die a horrible and slow death at my hands without dignity and keep this secret." He grits his teeth slightly. "Or you can tell me what you know about the colony on the planet Heroor in the Yelare system, and I'll make it quick and painless. Either way, you die in the end." Now that he's heard his options, I can see the desperation of an insane man. I wonder which he'll choose.
