The Aeternus Universe

The year of humanity is 2415, and DDVR and VRMMORPG's are commonplace now. It's extremely hard for a new game to come out and be successful. The greats of these genres have ruled for a few centuries now. A new game is releasing soon, and it has promise to be one of those. The Aeternus Universe. A Virtual Reality game has what you would expect from a game in this genre. However, some things make it special. One of those being the exploration and adventure through galaxies and The Aeternus Universe. Other games in this genre take it to fantasy and medieval times. This is set in a universe where there are super advanced technologies, spaceships, and Mecha suits—lost Alien tech ready to be found and claimed. Some of these all come together. The story starts 2 days before the release of the game, and with our protagonist—a 20-year-old male by the name of Scott Autumn. He is one of the few jumping from the current major game to this one. Seeing its potential for greatness and chance to be one of the biggest games on the market.

I leave the store with all the parts in my inventory and make my way towards the spaceport. I know where some shooting ranges are, but I need the proper tools to assemble the blaster. All of what I need is in the workshop. While the tools there are for fixing starships, they'll serve just fine. "Did you hear? The top players from Gaia's Awakening have already left Empyrian. I'm so damn jealous..." I overhear a conversation between two players as I walk past them. It seems the very best have already stepped into the infinite beyond.

I put my hands in my pockets, and my mind races. The top players are going to be leaving in droves in the coming days. After about a week, the casuals will start to leave Empyrian too. I'm going to be sticking around for a bit, and that isn't a bad thing. I have many things going on here, and I have the opportunity to have a legendary figure in The Aeternus Universe mentor. I'll have a chance to inherit some of his traits, and he'll open the door to the bounty hunter world for me.

So my main focus is preparing for that meet-up a week from now. In about 8 hours, I'll be taking a pilot's license test, and a day after that, I'm meeting with a representative from Ageis. So I've got a full schedule. After walking the streets for a little longer, my body begins to feel a little weak, and that's when I remember that eating and drinking are important in The Aeternus Universe. I head straight for a restaurant and sit down. I order some food, and I dig in.

Since I'm not notified about low food or water, I have to stay on top of it myself. Another mechanic I love about this game. Everything is up to a player. I finish my food and drink, and I actually feel better. I pay for the food with a single credit and make my way towards the spaceport. I look around and notice that the player count has gotten huge in Newton-14. It's one of two cities on Empyrian with a spaceport. Many players will migrate here.

I look towards the sky and see a bigger increase in starships. I can't really say much about how many of those are player ships, but some of them are. I'll admit I'm a little jealous too, but at least I get to take my test in my ship. Autumn's Fall is a starship and is definitely better than the rest out there. While only a little above 5 stars, I've deduced that the average rating for a starship is about 3 out of 10 stars. I don't have enough data on mecha suits to say anything about that, but it's going to be fun to learn about them when I get the chance.

In fact, I could just look them up on the computer at the shop and then learn everything about them, but I'm in no rush to find out about Mecha suits. Once I settle in and learn more about The Aeternus Universe, I'll dive into Mecha suits. I see the spaceport up ahead, and I calmly walk towards it. I make my way inside and head towards the store. I make it inside and head to the back into the workshop. I grab all the tools I need, and I take the parts out of my inventory and place them on the counter. I believe that these aren't graded the same way as starships and Mecha suits.

It might not be graded at all, and only tell me its Damage Per Shot and how much it's worth. I won't have to worry about reloading and ammo. I'm using an electric converter and fusing it with ions in the power chamber. It'll have a cooldown after 15 shots in a row without stopping, but I won't have to reload it. I grab some leather and sewing tools. I need to make a holster to go with it. After 20 minutes of meticulous work and bring my design to life. It's finished. I check out its information after I give it a name—Little Boy.
