There are many ships in this room, and I'll admit, I'm excited at the opportunity to fix them up. My mind has already disassembled them all and categorized the information. I already know what's wrong with everything in here too, it's just up to what I want to start on first. "Do you have one you wish to work on first?" The female alien asks me a question, and I lay my eyes on a medium fighter. It has several things wrong with its navigation computer and spooling technology.
A ship like that would make you lost in space. I point towards it, and they both smile. The male walks up to it and presses some buttons to give access to the inner working of the ship. I see a crawlspace open up to the area that has all the damage, and I smile.
They both look at each other and head over to another large door in the room. It opens, and long racks that are filled with tech are revealed. There are rows and rows too. My mind is already at work memorizing everything. My Problem-Solving trait starts along with my Tech Speak trait.
I walk into the large inventory room and start taking all the parts I need to fix the navigation and spooling. "The ship you are working on is called a J-Jumper. It's a standard military model. It's very popular with bounty hunters too. A bounty hunter has paid for the repairs on this ship." I nod my head as the male alien explains the situation. "By the way, my name is Pleiknor, and this is my life mate Meiklare. We are retired scientists of the Kalarian race." They both wave at the same with smiles.
I smile and take a breath. "I'm Scott Autumn. It's nice to meet both of you. Thanks for the opportunity to work on all these wonderful ships. I've learned so much already." I don't see the need to tell them I'm a Primordium. They likely wouldn't believe me anyway. They close their eyes and turn around. They walk through a sliding door marked office.
They are leaving me to my own devices, it seems. I look at the J-Jumper with the parts and tools I need to fix it. "Time to complete my first real quest." I received these missions from NPC's, which are run by the system. So that means the system gives players missions. Another piece to the mission acquisition puzzle is revealed. I walk up to the J-Jumper fighter and crawl into the crawl space.
Even medium fighters are quite large, while only a single-seater. It has lots of techs and crawls spaces to get around inside. It's approximately 17.06 meters in length and 9.24 meters in width. It stands at a height of 3.36 meters. So it's a nice size fighter of the medium class. The ships in here are mostly fighters of the small and medium varieties. There are some large cargo transporters too. I can't wait to fix those.
They had some interesting problems when I disassembled them in my head. I make it the navigation computer terminal in the crawlspace. I immediately see the damaged parts, and I masterfully take the computer apart and fix it. I put it back together just as fast as I took it apart. I crawl out of this crawl space and head to the back of the ship.
I open a compartment at the top of the engine, and a new crawl space is revealed—time to fix the quantum spooling. I descend into the quantum computer area and see the damaged piece behind some wires. I move them and replace the energy limiter for the quantum spooling flux. Making this ship now totally fixed and ready for use. I crawl out of the ship, and I notice that I'm not a little dirty.
Something is satisfying about getting dirty while working on things. I don't know what it is. I close the hatches and get off the ship. That's one ship down and several more to go. I spend the next 3 hours repairing all the ships in the workshop. The funniest one was the massive cargo transported. It was Recluse R-model. I open my mission for the workshop and see it's now complete.

I guess that means I talk to Pleiknor and Meiklare now. I walk to the off sliding door, and I knock on it out of respect. They both answer the office door. "So you finished working on the J-Jumper?" I look at them, confused. They don't know that I fixed them all, so that means I get to tell them. I shake my head and explain that I have fixed all the ships. The expression on both their faces isn't one I have seen from them before. It's funny enough to make me laugh.
They look into each other's eyes, and their eyes glow. They are having another telepathic conversation. That is so cool, in my opinion. "I must say I'm extremely surprised, Mr. Autumn... Do you mind if you wait a day for us to test all the ships to make sure your claim is true?" I don't mind. I nod my head as a sign for them to go ahead and do whatever they need.
I don't have anywhere to stay for the night. Maybe they can recommend a place. "Do you know anywhere I can stay while you guys do what you need? I'd rather not go outside and search." In truth, I could easily find one using my traits. However, they would know a place that is good enough for me to stay at. They nod their heads in unison and nod for me to follow them.
They bring me through the office sliding door and another set of sliding doors. A very nice-looking living room meets me with what looks to be a holo-terminal at the center. My mind disassembles it, and it's, in fact, what I thought it was. It's used on their T.V., and it makes me wonder what other things are similar here and on earth.
Meiklare puts her hand on my shoulder. I look at her, and she smiles. "You can stay here until we have confirmed everything is working right. This used to be our daughter's apartment, but she works on the chain world Gledious." I bow my head slightly in gratitude. They leave, and I sit on the couch in front of the holo-terminal. I know how it works, thanks to Tech Speak. I tell it to turn on, and it does.
I then command it to go to the news channel. Unsurprisingly it does. The Aeternus Universe has its own version of news too. Informing people of conflicts, discoveries, and accidents. I'm grateful that Meiklare and Pleiknor are kind enough to let me stay in their daughter's apartment. They have been very kind to me even though I'm a stranger.
I turn the holo-terminal off with a voice command, and I check out the other rooms in the apartment. After searching around, I find a little workroom. It has a design table, and my mind immediately does what it does, and I know exactly how it works. I walk up to it and tap on the screen, and a hologram pops up. It gives me options to work on old projects or create new ones. I select create since this is a workstation for designing new ships.
It's directly linked to the workshop's inventory, so I can see what pieces are available or not, I'd know without it, but it's a nice convenience. I bring the holo-graphic image up to eye level, and I start building a ship with what's available. Everything is so clear in my mind. I have so many designs I want to try out, so much tech I want to integrate.
I have a full 24 hours to explore and test out designs, and I'm going to use it. I open several projects at once, and I design and work on several ship designs at once. My traits are making everything so easy and so clear. I get a fuzzy feeling in my stomach every time I get to experience genius. No... This is beyond Genius.
Too bad I won't be like this in the real world. Speaking of the real world, I should get off soon. The system hasn't notified me that I need to eat or drink yet, so I'm staying in. Unknown to Scott, people are, in fact going back to the real world with their traits. He doesn't know yet since he hasn't left the game. Once he does, he's in for an awesome surprise.
