The Aeternus Universe

The year of humanity is 2415, and DDVR and VRMMORPG's are commonplace now. It's extremely hard for a new game to come out and be successful. The greats of these genres have ruled for a few centuries now. A new game is releasing soon, and it has promise to be one of those. The Aeternus Universe. A Virtual Reality game has what you would expect from a game in this genre. However, some things make it special. One of those being the exploration and adventure through galaxies and The Aeternus Universe. Other games in this genre take it to fantasy and medieval times. This is set in a universe where there are super advanced technologies, spaceships, and Mecha suits—lost Alien tech ready to be found and claimed. Some of these all come together. The story starts 2 days before the release of the game, and with our protagonist—a 20-year-old male by the name of Scott Autumn. He is one of the few jumping from the current major game to this one. Seeing its potential for greatness and chance to be one of the biggest games on the market.

~~~(POV: Scott Autumn)~~~
I stand up from the edge of the bed, and I hear Jess whimper out at my absence. She'll be perfectly fine without me. I walk over to my gaming pod, and I get inside. It slowly closes, and the headgear comes down, and I slip into unconsciousness.
After a couple of seconds, I'm loaded in, and I'm in my apartment. I move my in-game body around, and I look at the time.
Time moves differently on Empyrian than the real world. It isn't that much of a difference, but a full rotation of Empyrian takes 27 hours, and for Empyrian to completely orbit its star, it takes 378 days.
It causes some minor inconveniences when going back and forth between the two, but it's not that bad. Time passes at the same rate in the game as in the real world. So one hour here is one hour outside. I stop thinking about time and focus on what I should be focusing on.
Jess needs a ship, and I have plenty of designs. My mind never stops thinking, and it's always working on something. I have the ability to think about multiple things at the same time. The talent is called parallel thought. It's convenient when I want to work on many different things.
I get out of my thoughts as I have a notification from the system. I open it up, and that's when I realize it's my first payment in royalties regarding the designs I sold to Aegis.
I've made a sweet 712 million credits, and this is going to be on a monthly basis in the galactic calendar. The message that's attached to the notification is Aegis informing me this is this month's payment. It could be more next month, and it could be less.
It really depends on how many ships they sell using my designs. According to the data that I have, it'll increase drastically next month. I pull up my player interface to see my new credit amount.
I'm short 7 million credits of 1 billion. I'm going to use my current funds to get the parts I want for Jessica's ship. I close the player interface, and I make my way toward the workshop.
I head straight for the inventory room. I'm not going there to get anything from it. Cause all the things I want aren't in there.
I have the entirety of the inventory memorized, so no need to go over it. I walk towards the order station. It's a place I can look up specific parts in the starship and mech suit-making industry and have them delivered here.
I open the order station, and I zoom through all the parts I want to be delivered, and I place the orders. It's gonna cost me 800 million credits to send all the custom parts here.
Since Empyrian is far from all the producers I'm ordering from, the delivery fee is a bitch. It'll be sent here on a custom drone transport.
I hit accept, and 800 million credits are taken from me. It says it'll be 24 hours before the items are sent out for transport and an additional 2 hours for the trip here.
The unloading of the parts will be taken care of by the drones. I open my player interface again.
Jess is worth the price, in my opinion. I'm going to be tight on funds for a while, but that's okay. There are literally millions of ways for me to make huge sums of money if I really need to.
I guess now all I can do is wait for the parts to get here. Durado said he'll come and get me when he's got what he needs from Ziller, and I'm still getting half the reward money from Ziller's bounty.
That'll bolster my credit supply for a while. Being the smartest living creature in The Aeternus Universe isn't cheap. I turn towards Autumns Fall, and now that I have my pilot's license, it's time for some fun.
