The Academy of the Elites

When Crescent finally gets admitted to The Academy of the Elites, she’s more than ready to take revenge on them for kicking her parents out. Her plan is simple, become champion, become principal, and start the reform. The school system was corrupt and there were so many things to change. What happens when her plan doesn’t work? Simple, you improvise. -✿- “Molecule bending, particle bending, gravity bending, and oxygen bending. Please teach me!” The girl bows. He peers at her in curiosity. Those bending types were banned in the school. Why did she want to know? “What’s the point of learning something you can’t use?” “I want to defeat the champion” -✿- Update schedule: On pause

Chapter 8

Crescent's been off these past months. Ever since she had gotten in power, she had been different. It was her aura, her vibe was off. Ice stares at the girl he once fell in love with, and yet all he could see was a stranger. This wasn't his lover, it was only the shell of the girl he once loved.

"Kenma," Ice hands him a file on two things. One file on his parents and another file on the current avatar.

"Thank you." He stares at the extra file. "What's that for?"

"Our current avatar. The Airbender? I don't actually think she's the avatar." Ice flips through the files and stops at the last line. "Though she chose three out of four of the actual toys, they decided to train her as the avatar anyway. Her final element Earth was never developed. She's well into her late teens and the same age as us all yet she hasn't even been able to move a pebble."

Kenma nods, it was rare that the airbenders mistook their avatars yet it wasn't impossible. "Who are you suggesting is the actual avatar then?"

"You were talking with Crescent about her childhood yesterday right?"

"Yes" Kenma peers at him and Ice nods.

"She drank the Elementis' tear right?"

"Yes"

"This gives us 2 possibilities. One, Crescent was the avatar to begin with, or two, she's no longer herself but a puppet to the gem. The gem affects the person who drinks it bit by bit unless they're the avatar. You know what happens if it's actually Crescent right?"

"She is to train and step down from champion because the avatar can't be the champion." Kenma nods.

If Crescent was actually the avatar then they would have some major issues. But if she was the Elementis' puppet then that would cause even more issues. Crystal bending was outlawed since the elites had to be more well off than others. Years ago an avatar had blocked everyone's power to crystal bend. If Crescent could access it then it could cause potential issues to everyone.

"About my parents" Kenma stares at the file. "They aren't actually my parents huh?"

"It's the same trick they tried to pull on all the other champions that are orphans. You can play along and outsmart them or you can reject them. Rejection means that you aren't under any association's control and you make enemies though" Ice reads through his copy. "But that also means that if you managed to become champion again then you can make whatever changes you wish."

"Anything else?"

"We did a bit of a background search on your parents and them. Your parents didn't actually die from a car crash, they died while on the frontlines of the war. The people who are claiming to be your parents aren't very powerful so if you do reject them, it won't cause issues"

"Alright. I won't be champion again," Kenma shakes his head. "But I'll make sure that the person I'm training will bring good. One without the strings of a puppet."

"I'm looking forward to our new principal" Ice smiles.

"Breathe" Crescent's sitting on the floor in the catacombs with a strange woman. She had familiar green eyes from the Dai Lee, and was probably one of the Earth Queen's guards. "You cannot control the crystals unless you listen to them first."

Listen. Crescent feels her body slip away from herself and the crystal take over. It's like she's watching her life flash before her eyes.

"Welcome back" the green figure appears before her eyes. It's pitch black around them and the only thing you can see is a green figure.

"We agreed that this wouldn't happen again after last time" Crescent sneers.

"Woah woah don't be so cruel Cressie" the figure laughs, dark and booming. "We all know crystals don't keep their promises"

"You!" Crescent regains the ropes to herself and rips back into consciousness. She needed to get rid of the curse, she had to die on a full moon. The woman nods and she stares at the mess she's made. The catacombs were completely crystallized other than the trapdoor that led a person in.

She runs out of the cave, it's too much. She wasn't the avatar, she wasn't allowed to be bending crystals. She wasn't who she was supposed to be.

"Kenma sir you have visitors" his butler mentions and Kenma nods.

"Is it them?"

"Yes"

"Let them in"

Two could play this game.

"Darling" His mother reaches for a hug and he backs away.

"No thank you." He motions for them to sit. "You wanted an answer right?"

"Of course" his dad nods.

"The answer is no. You must think I'm delirious if I actually believe that you two are my parents." Kenma smirks. "I saw them die before my eyes. So your lies and tricks won't actually work on me"

"Please believe us! It was for your own good" his mother pleads and Kenma glares at her.

"You two should do better research. My parents died on the frontlines of the war, they have more honor than any of you" Kenma spits. "Now leave."

Two guards come in and drag them away. The man yells something along the lines of you will regret this but he doesn't care. His real parents were watching him from the sky.

Felix focuses his breathing. There's a storm outside and he was all alone. He needed to channel his energy, through his stomach and then out his arm. Lightning bending was a terror, but he had to master it to become the principal.

Kenma stares at the boy. He was improving quickly, it wouldn't be long until he was able to challenge the principal for the position. Kenma watches him bend lightning smoothly and smiles to himself. Three months. Three months to discover who Crescent really was and three months until Felix could take over the position. But three months would prove to be more than enough time.

It’s here it’s here! I’m still planning out the next couple of chapters but for now take this! Are you excited to see what happens next? Well good luck to you all and hope you enjoy!
