Chapter 57 - Oyster Sauce.

As Rei neatly rolled a portion of minced meat mixture with a wide piece of blanched long cabbage leaf, she stared at a whole pile of failed dishes that Xi Er was about to pour into the compose tank.
"Seriously, I am curious of how you managed to turn that ordinary cabbage into something that was even sweeter than sweets." Rei asked, a bit confused.
"Uhm... I marinated the whole thing in honey for hours," said Xi Er.
"Ah?... But... But why would you want to do that?" Rei asked, even more confused than before.
"Heh? I thought sweet vegetables were supposed to be good. Or at least that's how most people compliment a vegetable," said Xi Er in a frank tone.
"Ah... That's not how it's supposed to be. The 'sweet' you were saying is the natural sweetness of the fresh vegetable that was preserved through a good cooking. Soaking vegetables in honey just wouldn't work," said Rei, who sounds slightly speechless.
