[Beep~ place of historic significance detected nearby]
[Life simulation system is loading~]
Kyle halted in his steps, a smirk curling on his lips as he recognized the source of the unusual sound.
"Finally," he muttered under his breath, a spark of excitement igniting within him.
Ever since he arrived on the continent of Teyvat he has been hoping he too has an immortal ancestor in another dimension who would give him a system like the usual Chinese transmigrators get, to keep himself safe in this dangerous world.
Kyle looked at the holographic interface in front of him.
The translucent screen displayed a message:
[Beep~ place of historic significance detected nearby]
[Life simulation system is loading~]
[System loaded]
[Sign in at a place of historic significance to activate system functions and one round of simulation]
Fuelled with excitement, Kyle entered the courtroom, his heart racing with anticipation.
The grandeur of the room, with its high ceilings and ornate decorations, only added to his sense of exhilaration.
Taking one of the fast filling seats in the grand chamber he hit the sign in button.
[Beep~ sign in complete]
[Sign in location Opera Epiclese]
[Number of simulations possible: 1]
"System what are your functions" he whispered
[Ding~ System allows host to simulate a live an alternate life]
[The host can select upto 4 talents from the randomly selected ones at the beginning of the simulation]
[The simulation is evaluated at the end and appropriate rewards are distributed]
Kyle's eyes widened as he absorbed the information, he finally had a way to acquire power.
"In this world where power triumphs all, where gods walk amongst the mortals, being weak was a sin," Kyle muttered to himself, his determination growing stronger.
"System can I simulate now"
Before he can read the system's reply he heard a deep and crisp voice.
While he had been busy with his newfound toy, the chamber had been filled, the doors had been closed and a tall man with shoulder length white hair and a cane in hand was standing on the podium addressing the audience.
"Esteemed guests," the man began, his voice commanding attention, "today we gather on the occasion to witness the trial of one of our own."
"One Lord Armand has been accused of embezzlement of public funds meant for the orphanage"
"Bring the accused in," he continued.
At the same time, high up in the balcony overlooking the podium sat a petite 'young' lady sipping on a cup of tea, a tall woman stood behind her carrying a rapier.
"Soooo boring, the money trail is quite enough evidence to convict him, what do you think Clorinde"
"It's as you said Miss Furina, the outcome of this trial is quite clear from the beginning."
"Is this the only trial scheduled for today."
"Yes, it is, miss Furina."
"Hmmm, take me to the usual place after the trial."
"Miss Furina, may I be presumptuous enough in saying that you have been spending far too much time under that tree?"
"You may not" Furina replied in an uncharacteristically sharp but low voice
"Please forgive me for overstepping, Miss Furina"
But Furina could not be bothered, she had been long lost in her own thoughts.
'Oh Kyle, how cruel can you be to leave me alone like this.'
'Just how much longer, when will this end'
'When will I be able to live for myself for once, I don't even have the luxury of leaving this mortal realm even if I want.'
'Ohh Kyle' She was only broken out of her thoughts when she felt her palms became wet
Quickly hiding her tears she replied
"It's fine Clorinde, just don't talk about it again."
"Thank you for your benevolence Miss Furina."
