Day 2.
6:20 pm, August 12, 2078, Friday.
In a dimly lit room, the only source of light was a large computer screen casting a bluish hue across the space. Seated before it was a young girl with tan skin, her twin-tail brown hair cascading down her shoulders. Her intense gaze was fixed on the screen, her face contorted in frustration as she screamed at the display, the flickering images reflecting the high stakes of the game she was engrossed in. The room echoed with her cries of exasperation.
"Shoot! Dammit!! He's right there!! Fine, I'll do it myself!"
This young girl was Yukikaze Mizuki, daughter of Shiranui Mizuki. She was busily playing a shooter game, displaying remarkable proficiency in aiming as she effortlessly landed headshots on every incoming enemy.
Her frustration grew evident as she noticed her teammate struggling, forcing her to carry the team to victory. Despite the added pressure, Yukikaze's skill and determination shone through, and she ultimately managed to pull through, securing a triumphant win.
"Yes! I won!" She raised her hands in excitement showing a text that said victory.
"What!? Shut up! What do you mean we!? You idiots were running around while I carried you all!" Yukikaze angrily said to her mic. She left the lobby since she didn't want to waste time talking and leaned back into her chair.
'Why are they blaming me!? They're the ones who're freaking noobs!?'
Glancing over at the clock and seeing that it was already time for dinner, Yukikaze decided to grab a snack as an appetizer, having run out of chips. Just as she was about to head to the kitchen, a sudden knock on the door interrupted her.
"Young miss, your mother has returned from her mission." An elderly man spoke as this made Yukikaze's mood immediately shift and quickly opened the door.
"Really!? She's already back!?" Yukikaze was relieved considering how dangerous being Taimanin is with the chances of being defiled was quite high and used as nothing but plaything. She always feels worried knowing her mother is still working despite her age.
Shiranui was a powerful Taimanin but her ability does deteriorate as she ages despite how youthful she appears. Though, Taimanin aging process in Taimanin is different from normal considering there are elderly who look rather youthful. Regardless, knowing her mother was safe and sound made her feel at ease. The reason why she played was to calm her nerves and not worry.
Yukikaze was about to leave her room when Zenki, their stewards, stopped her for a moment, confusing the young girl.
"What gives?" She asked.
"We have a guest. It would be best if you wore a more appropriate attire." Zenki pointed out seeing Yukikaze wearing an oversized shirt showing off her bra and didn't wear any shorts simply in her underwear.
"A guest?" Yukikaze was confused but it wasn't new since her mother had brought guests before that she became friends with.
She is curious what this person would be like and if she can be friends with them since she's always worried how her anxiety gets the best of her when meeting new people. Yukikaze can be awkward at times and her actions can be misunderstood.
"Alright, give me a woman." Yukikaze said and Zenin nodded.
"Then you may meet them in the living room." The steward left while Yukikaze went to find appropriate clothes to wear before heading out. Her home was rather large, capable of housing many people but unfortunately it was only her mother who was a member of the Mizuki Clan.
"Mom!"
However, she easily navigated her home and found her mother talking beside an unknown person who turned to reveal an androgynous individual but Yukikaze has experience in differentiating if a person was man or a woman solely from observing her friends like Nao and Shikanosuke.
He has long ebony silky hair and creamy white skin that lacked any blemishes with mesmerized wine red eyes seemingly peering through her soul and pulling her in. Even though she was going to ignore him but couldn't help but be enticed by their presence. He wore a rather gothic outfit but it fits his aesthetic quite well.
"Yuki! Oh how I miss you!" Her mom quickly went for a hug and kiss but Yukikaze blushed in embarrassment trying to push away her mom.
"W-Wait, M-Mom, stop, it's embarrassing." Yukikaze said and this made Shiranui tense up.
"Aaaw, Yuki-chan doesn't miss me." Shiranui pretends to be sad to tease her daughter.
"Of course I do but we have a guest. Who is he anyway?" Yukikaze curiously asked, looking at the man who smiled.
"Pardon the intrusion. My name is Testament. Just Testament. As for why that is, well it's quite a long story. Care to listen?" His accent and tone was clearly British in Japanese. He was rather fluent and smooth in how he talked.
"He will be staying with us for the time being. Why don't you show him around, Yuki?" Shiranui suggested surprising Yukikaze.
"Uhmm…Okay." Yukikaze was nervous, finding it hard to say no especially with a guest but she doesn't know how to act around new faces. On the other hand, Testament smiled having his own inner thoughts when he saw Yukikaze appear.
'She's quite the looker…' He always liked the design and appearance of Yukikaze because he is someone who likes thighs and ass more than boobs. Not to say, he isn't into mature and ripe bombshells but there's a certain aesthetic when it comes to petite women.
"Lead the way."
Testament warmly said trying to not make her comfortable and the same goes to Yukikaze trying to act natural. The two walk around the mansion and it is certainly unique since the place was a Japanese village yet the architure of the mansion was western.
"I must say your home is certainly interesting." Testament commented glancing at the painting and decoration on the hallway that was lit by fancy chandeliers.
"How so?" Yukikaze tilted her head rather cutely.
"From what I observed and heard from Shiranui-san is that your family is a well respected clan therefore I expected it to be a Japanese home not a western one." He explained and Yukikaze agreed.
"My mom said that my ancestor was fond of western mansions, which is why he requested to have property in that style." Yukikaze said and Testament nodded, arriving at a balcony seeing a garden below and how the moonlight began to cast its light into the vegetation.
"What a magnificent sight." Testament said taking his time to look at the view.
"Would it be alright to ask but care to share anything about yourself as I do the same? Though, feel free to not say anything if you feel uncomfortable, for I do not wish for you to feel that way." Testament glances at Yukikaze who shakes her head.
"Go ahead, I don't mind." Yukikaze said getting a positive opinion of the Testament who nodded in response.
"Then you can go first. Ask away." Testament words surprised Yukikaze.
"Are you sure?" She quickly received a nod before giving a question.
"Okay, if you say so. Can you tell me why you're with my mother?" That's been a question that was nagging her for the past few minutes.
"Well, I appeared where your mother was attacked and wounded before she was captured. I managed to save her." His answer scared Yukikaze, learning that she always lost her mother! This made her tense up then relieved that she was safe
"I…Thank you for saving mom." Yukikaze immediately thanked him while Testament shook his head.
"No need to thank me. I was simply at the right place at the right time. Not to mention, you're already repaying me by letting me stay here."
The way he was acting made Yukikaze appreciate how kind and humble he was. It wasn't an act, it was sincere. How does she know this? She was unsure but knew there was no lie nor hidden intention.
Yukikaze even noticed how he kept looking at her in a certain way that made her feel like a woman even though she doesn't have the same assets as her mother.
"Still, I would have lost my mother without you." Yukikaze said and Testament nodded.
"But you said appeared? What were you doing in that place before you saw my mother?" Yukikaze asked with Testament briefly contemplating his next words.
"...Well I hope you keep it a secret because your mother reported that I was the test subject from where she was sent but in truth I appeared in that place with my memory jumbled with only a handful of things I can clearly remember." Testament said to get Yukikaze's attention.
"And those are?" She asked.
"My name and what I am with bits and bits scattered around." Testament decided to hide that he was incubus to not make Yukikaze uncomfortable.
"That's…it must be hard for you."
Yukikaze strangely felt natural talking to him as if she knew him for the longest time while Testament felt the same way considering her incubus skills act two way. Testament simply gave a light laughter.
"Certainly not. I don't worry knowing I'll eventually uncover them and even if I don't then that's fine. The past is the past." Testament said and Yukikaze seemed to downcast recalling someone.
"Ah, my apologies, I seem to sully the mood of ours." He quickly noticed the atmosphere and Yukikaze immediately shook her head.
"N-No, it's fine." Yukikaze slightly cursed herself for being awkward but Testament calmly smiled.
"Then I think it's time to share something about yourself. What's your like and dislike?" Testament began to change the topic and Yukikaze complied as they began to have friendly chat getting closer and closer.
"I see, as far as I can remember, I'm quite fond of video games, mostly visual novels but I do enjoy games like rpg and shooters."
Testament wasn't trying to use this as a way to get close to Yukikaze and simply sharing his likes with her. Though, it is unfortunate that he never played any Taimanin visual novel or Chinese that simply remembers through reading their wiki.
"R-Really? You played video games before?" Yukikaze shared her interest with Sakura Igawa as the two had similar hobbies.
"As far as my memories show, yes, I have. Though, I am not familiar with games in this place." Testament said.
"This place?" Yukikaze said.
"Ah, apologize, my memories are rather difficult to know what's real and what's not." Testament wasn't completely lying considering his memories are a blur where the lines of dreams and memories are mixing.
"W-Well, i-if you want, we can try playing games in my room." Yukikaze inwardly panics that she was inviting a stranger, especially a boy in her room alone!? She can't back down now but her thoughts have run wild.
"Oh, are you certain? I don't wish to intrude on your privacy." Testament said seeing it was a bit awkward for him to immediately be inside Yukikaze when she barely knows anything about him or if she can fully trust him. His conscience prevents him from acting upon his nature.
Testament avoids being conceited as many in his situation act like they are better than everyone else and have no shame in using everything to gain what they want. Everything is fake for them.
Though, as Transcendent Incubus, he was able to discern the relationship status of people around him and knew that Yukikaze was having a positive impression of him.
"I-It's alright." Yukikaze said calming herself down, regaining her senses.
"Is that so? Then I am looking forward to showing me the ropes as I might not be familiar with the game you play." Testament said with a soothing tone allowed Yukikaze to feel at ease.
"What about we lay right now? We can play until Grandpa calls us." Yukikaze said and Testament concluded she was mentioning Zenki.
"Then let us go." Testament said and Yukikaze became excited as she led him towards her room.
