Chapter 5: Goblins. The scrawny, beat-up, dirt-poor version.

Akari took space and spoke.

"So, what do we do next?"

"Hmmm?" Veldora hummed in curiosity.

"It's about the shiny stuff surrounding you. We can't go on adventures and such, together if you stay sealed. I would certainly feel bad that I'm going all around the world, saving people, helping the poor, beating up monsters and slaying the demon lord without my precious friend!"

Satoru spoke in and mentioned. "Plus, I also feel bad knowing that my friend was sealed down here for 300 years of boredom of nothing to do."

"Omai wa…" Veldora spoke as his eyes largened out and became puppy dog eyes.

"Ok, stop that. My eyes hurt. It'll be one thing coming from a cute girl but a dragon?" Akari spoke

Veldora turned serious and crossed his front limbs.

"If you have a way to get me out of here, I'd appreciate it. Th-the thing is. I wouldn't last another 100 years before I lose all of my magicules. I keep losing and losing magicules…"

"Hm," Akari approached the barrier and touched it.

"The barrier is taking out Veldora's magicules little by little and releases it outwards."

"So that's why the cave is so rich with magicules, and there's so many valuable herbs and ore." Satoru spoke.

Ai looked to the left and saw the vast number of resources. "Yeah."

"What happens when your magic runs out." Satoru asked.

Veldora spoke to answer. "It's not a huge deal. Really. I'll just die, that's all."

"So, you'll just die after all those years…" Ai spoke.

"Might as well try!" Satoru figuratively lifted his head up and wiggled to the barrier.

"Hm?" Veldora hummed in curiosity.

"Great sage! Activate "predator"."

Satoru's body extended to the barrier before it was pushed back.

<< Announcement; Failure. >>

"See? It's impossible." Veldora said while moving his claws, open and close.

"Then let me try!" Akari shouted and approached.

"Avant, activate "Excess"."

The same thing happened with Satoru's try and the barrier rejected the attempt.

"I'm not out of tricks yet!" Akari spoke and tried again.

"Avant! Help me with the activation of skills; "Pierce & Cleave", "Vigil" and "Object Materialization"."

Magicules started swarming on top of the three.

Seconds later, a crack in space appeared on where the swarm of magicules was as a giant longsword came out of the crack.

"{Conservacy}" Akari mumbled loudly.

The sword's blade glow in splendid, brilliant light that made it seem that it could cut through anything.

"{Pierce & cleave}"

The sword vibrated in extremely vast rate of speed, eager to get free of constraint and dice anything.

Akari "breathed" in and out to ready herself and spoke the command.

",,"Release.",,"

The sword disappeared and reappeared right beside Veldora on the ground.

Veldora and Satoru's eyes widened beyond belief as they were shocked of the events.

The barrier shred apart and opened up a big enough hole for Veldora to get through and a sonic boom followed.

But unfortunately, the barrier immediately resealed.

The three stood there unmoving.

"I did it! Yes…! Wait. Veldora, you jerk! I just made a hole for you, and you didn't escape!"

Akari's words snapped them out of their trance.

"Uhhhh… Gomen, Gomen. I'm so sorry!" Veldora lamented

"You better be! I made an escape for you, and you just froze there!"

Veldora was trapped in a corner. "But hey! You almost killed me!"

"You little… What? My… my vision is blurring…. What the… ugh…"

Akari's words were cut as she melted into a red gloop of slime.

"Nooooo! What happened my friend?!" Veldora shouted.

"THe sKIll… tooOUok… mY mAGicUlEs…" Akari gurgled.

"Nooooo!" Satoru shouted.

"A name. A name! let's name her! It'll replenish her magicules!" Veldora shouted.

"My other slime friend, hurry up and make a name or she'll die!"

Satoru looked at her evaporating slime and spoke.

"Red… Crimson… Scarlet… Dahlia... Akari... Akari! Veldora! Akari!"

Veldora heard the name and looked at the red slime.

"From now on, you shall be called Akari."

The red slime, now named Akari, started forming to a glob again and regenerated all the missing parts that had evaporated.

" "Phew…" " the 2 sighed in relief.

"So, what happened?" The blue slime, formerly named Satoru asked.

<< Answer. Named monster; "Akari" had used her unique skills; {Pierce 'n Cleave}, {Vigil}, and {Object Materialization} to sever the "unlimited imprisonment". She was successful, but only for a few seconds of time as the barrier immediately repaired itself. The problem had arisen when both of her unique skills had drained her magicules dry because her soul was only barely able to contain the skills. Magicules are building blocks of life and what slimes use to maintain their form. If the entity; "Veldora" Had not named her and had evolved her into the race; demon slime, Akari would have died due to her magicules hitting rock bottom. Now that she had evolved and had her soul strengthened a bit more. She could now use all her skills normally and would be back on her feet one day later.>> Great sage answered.

Satoru almost cried at Akari's sacrifice.

Keyword at almost, he couldn't cry because his slime body wasn't capable of the act.

Satoru had put great sage on loudspeaker so that Veldora could hear what had happened.

... Let's just say that the dragon shed some tears and regretted starting a fight between them.

Veldora, crying until he had his golden eyes turn like Akari's color did not happen.

Satoru sighed and spoke.

"Legends never die."

The 2 proceeded to comfort each other and planned what to do next.

Satoru proposed that he eats Veldora.

Veldora laughed at it like it was fart and agreed.

Veldora proceeded to name Satoru and Satoru was no more.

Rimuru and Veldora had received the last name "{TEMPEST}" together with Akari.

Rimuru and Akari had received Veldora's protection and blessing in the form of the Storm Crest.

After the naming ceremonies, Rimuru proceeded to eat and store Veldora in his skill's "stomach".

After that, the world was thrown into chaos with Veldora's disappearance.

A day had soon passed and Akari Tempest had awakened and began talking with Rimuru to know what had happened.

Akari and Rimuru explored eagerly while sharing jokes to encourage each other in the boring journey.

Rimuru's jokes weren't that great nor funny, but Akari still enjoyed his company.

Rimuru and Akari had also faced multiple monsters- ehem.

Target practice dummies for Akari's aiming skills for the usage of <-[Vigil]-> which she could now use normally now that she had increased magicules and strengthened soul due to evolution into demon slime.

{A/n: I am lengthening Akari's U.S. into <-[Vigil]->.)

The 2 devoured and ate monsters with their skills and earned more skills.

The 2 especially liked the skill "Ultrasonic wave" which had allowed them to talk and convey words "orally".

The 2's adventure continued as 30 days had soon passed.

The 2 had arrived at the cave where a giant steal Door stood in their way to freedom from the confines of the large cave.

"Hey, Rimuru-ni, want to try first at blasting the door open?"

Rimuru had sweat bullets and wanted to restrain Akari's usage of <-[Vigil]-> after the event of causing a huge rift while trying to hit a swift spider because of the frustration she had while trying.

"Yeah… let's keep your unique skills under wraps unless we need to face something strong."

But to their surprise the gate opened and revealed three Adventurers.

The 2 hid in the corner and spoke to themselves using "Enhanced thought communication".

"They don't look strong; they don't look that weak either." Akari spoke to Rimuru.

"Should we go say "hi"? No, no, no. Never mind my idea Akari, they'll just attack us because we're monsters."

And so, the two silently waited for the trio to pass.

They were surprised when the three suddenly disappeared but then Akari saw the footsteps and told Rimuru.

"Let's go, brother!"

The duo went outside while avoiding the team of adventurers.

"Haaahhh… The air smells nice."

"Um, Rimuru-niichan? Slimes can't smell."

"I know. I didn't mean it literally, Akari"

Eryth and Rimuru leisurely bounced around the forest, exploring its different shades of greens.

They heard the songs and chirps of colourful birds.

The sounds of the distant river.

And the sounds of-

Clang!

Akari and Rimuru turned around as they heard loud footsteps and clanging of weapons.

Soon, another shade of green appeared in front of the duo.

Scrawny bodies, beat-up weapons, and dirt-poor clothing.

"Strong ones. Do you have any business here?"

The one in the middle of the group asked the duo.

Akari turned to Rimuru to ask for conformation.

"Hey Rimuru-niichan. Goblins, they're goblins, right?"
