As Helena opened her door, shower already taken and clothes already dressed, she saw George in front of her room, holding two cups of coffee. She smiled and eyed him curiously.

"Oh, hi! What's going on, Georgie?" The girl asked with furrowed brows, as the boy looked at her, seemingly embarrassed.

"I, well... I-I brought you some coffee!" The boy said.

"Oh, thank you! You're too sweet." She smiled at him and gave sweet look, taking the cup and heading for the bathroom.

Once the girl closed the door behind her, Izzie walked by and messed with the boy. "Wouldn't it be easier to just ask her out?"

He blushed and sipped on his coffee, as Lena came out of the bathroom and walked towards her room to get her stuff.

"Meredith's gonna be late." The boy commented about the girl who had yet to leave her room, as Lena packed her stuff for the day.

"Maybe not." Izzie said.

"We should wait for her." He suggested.

"Definitely not." The blond answered. "I'm not her mother and you're not her dad. She'll be fine."

"I might just warn her we're leaving though." Lena said, going down to hall to knock softly on Mer's door and saying rather loudly. "We're leaving, Mer. See you are work."

Walking down the hall to meet her friends, she returned to the conversation and heard George say. "I'm not dying."

"Who's dying?" The girl questioned, with her head tilted.

"No one, Lena. No one's dying." He put a hand on the small of her back as they left the house.

As Bailey and her interns walked down the hallway, Meredith and Cristina joined them.

"Cristina, you're late." The resident pointed out, not commenting on the blond's arrival.

"So is Meredith." Accused Cristina.

"Child." Lena insulted her, earning herself a playful push. The girl giggled and yelped as she nearly flew off.

"When we walk in this door, you'll maintain decorum. You will not laugh, vomit, or drop your jaw. Are we understood?" The resident warned with a stern look.

"Why would we laugh?" Izzie asked, confused.

"Oh, just you wait." Alex says, as Lena elbowed him in the arm.

"It's actually laughable, but you'll see what she means." The girl explained.

"Good morning, Miss Connors." The resident greeted as Lena did the same, with a smile.

"Good morning." The patient returned.

"Tumor." Cristina said, likely louder than she meant to.

"Morning, Annie. This is Doctor Bailey, there are my fellow interns and of course, you know Doctor Campos." He said nicely.

"Dr. Karev, we refer to patients as "mister"..." Bailey corrected.

"I told him to call me Annie." She explained. "Ms. Connors makes me feel old and fat, which I am, but why feel that way?"

"Good morning." Burke entered the room.

"And, Annie, this is Doctor Burke, our head of cardio thoracic surgery." Lena explained, noticing the glances between him and Cristina, which told her they were still sleeping together. "Annie Connors, 43-years-old, who presented last night with progressive shortness of breath for the past three months. Found to have a large tumor of unknown origin pressed against her diaphragm."

"Stable vital signs, scheduled for CT this morning, sir." Alex finished the presentation.

"Thank you Dr. Campos and Karev. Are you at all claustrophobic?" Burke inquired.

"I've been house bound for the last year, how claustrophobic could I be?" Both Alex and Lena shot her a sympathetic smile.

"Dr. Stevens is going to take you up for a CT. It'll give us a better look at the tumor, and we'll know how to proceed from there." The attending explained.

"Could someone tell my mom? She'll worry if she gets back and I'm not here... and would it be possible for Alex to take me instead? He's just so fun to look at." The patient requested.

"Sure, Ms. Connors."

——

"How much do you think it weighs?" Meredith asks.

"Sixty pounds, more?" George guesses.

"She's carrying around a whole extra person." Izzie says, chocked.

"Oh, come on, cut it out. It's a human being we're talking about." Lena scolded them gently.

"This one is going in the books! I've got to get in." Cristina exclaimed.

"I almost did." Izzie said. "Have you ever seen Alex like that? He actually seemed sincere."

"Seemed being the operative word." Meredith added

"Maybe he just took a liking to her, I don't know. He was on call last night and I stayed late so I helped out too." Lena informed. She'd always chosen to see the good in people.

"I'm never leaving this place again." Cristina whined, making the shortest girl chuckle.

Their resident moves past them and the follow her. "Let's move people. Ms. Connor's surgery, should we choose to proceed, will take most if not all of the surgeons of the floor." The walk down the hall, Bailey in from of them and interns in the back. "Which means you people will have to work extra hard not to kill anyone, because we won't be there to fish your mistakes."

——

Later that day, Lena was walking by the CT room and overheard Alex's voice. Remembering that Annie must have been in there, she stopped by to check on what was happening.
